I went to the region. You'd occasionally get people calling you Jimmy(after the protagonist of disco dancer) or Indus/Undis, and trying to sort of bully you. But for the most part people were indifferent.

I am wh*te, Almaty and Ust'-Kamenogorsk, then some shitty village like 50km away from there for a few days.

Almaty was reasonably nice, Ust'-Kamenogorsk was ok and I'd unironically rather kill myself than live in that stupid little village
