According to the official story they used diesel engines to generate carbon monoxide in Treblinka's gas chambers. But in reality diesel engines generate only minute amounts of carbon monoxide. It's not nice breathing diesel exhaust fumes, but it isn't deadly either, at least not immediately.

That would require hermetically sealed gas chamber and because diesel exhaust CONTAINS OXYGEN too, there also should had been some filtering system that pumped oxygen out but left carbon monoxide inside. It would have been very slow and expensive process. Almost 15 % of diesel exhaust fumes can be oxygen, in breathable O2 form.
Couple of years ago there was a scandal when German car manufacturers used humans when testing the health effects of diesel exhaust. They didn't die though, at least not immediately:
