Some time between 2009 and 2011, I came here from Evageeks forums. I saw a lot of reposts of memes on forums and YouTube and read Encyclopedia Dramatica. I remember being intesred in Over 9000, mudkips and longcat long before I came here.

Never really browsed Jow Forums for as long as I have been here. I'm thinking I might make a routine since it seems to offer good off-topic discussion with relatively little spam and faggotry.

Started on ED/Urban Dictionary in 2009, started lurking /b/ in 2011, shortly after moved to /sp/ and all the flags gave me a big interest in geopolitics and the world in general so I ended up here.
I started lurking when I was 12, currently 19 btw. Just a reminder that there are definitely people born in this decade among us.

I knew about /b/ for some years and chan culture for some years from places like encyclopediadramatica, but only decided to visit in 2012 when I was very bored.

Some years back I was sitting in a senior secondary school classroom and we had a free class. The retarded teacher(fuck him and his antics) thought it would be kool with the kidz to watch netflix. He chose a random documentary on Jow Forums thinking it was going to be some law and order shit but for internet hackers. After I saw the documentary hosted by a bunch of shitposters, before which i had no clue what Jow Forums was, i instantly got hooked on the funny shit they were doing and how it was an organized community pissing people off for laughs. Little did our brainlet teacher know but he basically gave birth to a bunch of shitposters in that classroom.

Was searching for gore and somehow found a rekt thread on /gif/. I also noticed that there's a literature board which i thought was cool as fuck so I lurked.

I got sick of how every forum with usernames was a hugbox. So I thought an Anonymous website would be better. Jow Forums, for a time, was better. But it sucks nowadays, all the shitposting is very low effort - back in my day, shitposting was meant to make the other guy look dumb, not yourself. And you can't have a >serious discussion anymore because irony has taken over every level of this god-forsaken place (as such dishonesty has swallowed almost every other part of the internet).
I don't know why I'm still here.

One day I just decided to check out the infamous Jow Forums out of boredom.

2006 started posting funny cats in lihavakissa with my buddies that are long gone now (the first Finnish imageboard ever)

2007 lihavakissa changed its format and name to Finnchan. Soon after Finnchan was kill due to police indirectly shutting it down because of 87k password list scandal. Then kuvalauta was born as a substitude which gained huge popularity never seen before and reached one million posts which was huge. I still remember that day

2010 august 31st the day came and kuvalauta was also kill. It was devastating and I remember it crystal clear. It was unclear why it happened but there was no police involved, just some disagreements with the host. Three substitute sites were made very soon after: kotilauta, lauta.net and northpole. This resulted in the great ”finnish chan wars” and there was ddos attempts from one side to another. There was no clear winner so finally they all came together as one and Ylilauta was born in 2011 and is still running, and is actually one of the most popular sites in Finland.

2012 I always knew about Jow Forums but never really lurked here because of the language barrier. I started lurking /sp/ and Jow Forums however since I’ve been a sport enthusiastic. It was about 50:50 Jow Forums and ylilauta at this time.

2014 I quit lurking ylilauta because of the great jonne invasion. It wasn’t just the same anymore and the posters were dumb and often underage. I kept going on /sp/ and Jow Forums primarily and discovered Jow Forums as well

2016 regularly spent my time on Jow Forums because I wanted to learn languages and also Jow Forums, /v/, /sp/ and Jow Forums.

2017 pretty much only posted on Jow Forums and Jow Forums. It’s been that way since then and Jow Forums has become my primary board. I even rarely leave our general nowadays kek

The ugoplayer forums (which were infinitely better than this place) shut down and I had been reading encyclopedia dramatica articles since 7th grade. So when they pulled the plug I joined this place. This was around 2011 when it seems just about every vbulletin 2.0 type forum went through a rapid death spiral with the advent of twitter.

2016 thanks to the Donald Trump Revolution. I joined Jow Forums as a foot soldier in the digital campaign and then my fellow Magapedes directed me to this new website called 4channel.

I used to browse discussion forums in 2008 because my internet was slow. I started to frequently browse a software/hardware/gaming/banter community with nerds, chads, older people, etcetera that was (still is) called hardmob.
They posted the link to a brazilian imageboard there and I started to browse, I was always failing in get jobs, failed relationship with a girl, went to great shame for being loner when started to go to a church, depression.
Started to learn english in a serious way in 2012 just for Jow Forums and started on /tv/. I've been on Jow Forums (since 2 years ago) and /tv/.

First started browsing Jow Forums, and eventually started posting here as well. It seemed to me, like a Jow Forums that isn't full of unironic edgelords

I used to be in SwiftIRC which was the RuneScape IRC network. I would hang out in #Zezima all the time and we would periodically get raided from /b/, (thought I didn't know what it actually was at the time until someone actually mentioned Jow Forums). Unbeknownst to me I visited Jow Forums first in 2007, I didn't come back until 2011 as I was always scared of it lel.
