I've been diagnosed with depression, but that was a very conscious effort on my part. I went to the psychiatrist knowing I wanted to walk away with an SSRI.
I think it's a meme profession. It relies on you telling the truth to get an accurate diagnosis. I always get too scared of what he/she might think if I tell the truth.
