I can't speak for Canadian reservations, but in America they're a massive disgrace. The economy of how they're run is completely fucked and everyone suffers because of it, but nobody speaks out because there's a strong community pride and resentment of the outside that keeps them from acknowledging fault, and there's not a lot of free association so that combined with poverty makes it almost impossible for residents to leave on their own accord. Yet the tribes have the audacity to beg for worthless land and money that they inevitably mismanage.
