I've been homeless in Chicago during winter, the based McDonald's managers will open their doors for the homeless and let them sleep. Usually you can stay for a long time but you can't sleep and keep your area clean is the rule, but during artic blasts those rules go out the window.

Was a trip walking down the sidewalk you there was a huge wall of snow six feet high blocking the street. I stopped by a Mc D's on the way and went to the cashier and told him that I really needed to use the restroom already "knowing" that he'd ask for Money but they simply let me in without even asking for anything. After I left the restroom the cashier even asked me if I was feeling alright and if I needed help with something, kek.

I did end up buying a milk-shake just because they were nice to me.

Walmart too. 24 hour bathrooms and you can sleep in your car in the parking lot. Was nice to go somewhere warm and walk around at night when i was living in my car.
