might sound kind of far-fetched but I suspect that fascism and similar ideologies are a capitalist plot to deter the working class from pursuing their class interests by appealing to some abstract concept like muh fatherland that makes them think they share interests with capitalists just because they share nationality/ethnicity

I don't want the empire restored. It looks cool on maps but it was a drain on our resources and it allowed the former colonies to migrate and destroy us from within. To do that again would be insane
