I'm thinking about taking a week-long trip to Montreal. I have never really been there, aside from driving past it on the highway. What should I do there? I want to spend my nights checking out local music at the bars, but what sober things should I do during the day? I like to walk and explore, so am thinking about doing some guided walking tours. Also I will be going alone so I won't be eating at nice restaurants, but let me know of any good cheap places.

Come on Montreal frens, I know there are lots of you here on Jow Forums

You should suck some juicy black dicks.

Stop in marieville on your way and go to a bar named le gentleman

is montreal a nice place to visit if u cant speak any french? are fingols welcome there?

Montreal is a virtually bilingual city. Every person that deals with customers is required to be able speak French and English. Be polite, try to learn some limited French and exaggerate your accent so they won't think you are American or even worse, Anglo-Canadian.

Just say you're Kiki's or Lucky's cousin.

From the area, you are 100% correct
Listen to Hans, as long as you don't sound American or Anglo-Canadian you are 10/10. Do come to visit soon!

I am Anglo. Will they hate me even if I make an attempt to speak French?

The worst you can do is just walk up and speak English, as long as you're not in one of the totally Anglo areas of Montreal. They'll like you more if you make even a paltry attempt to speak French, but they'll still dislike you deep down no matter what.

I've got a French Canadian ancestry, but I grew up in an Anglo part of the country. I speak pretty good French, but they can still tell I'm not a Québec native, so they assume I'm an Anglo. It's amazing how much their demeanor changes when I reveal my last name, and they realize I'm basically a descendant of Québécois expats.
>Welcome home, Québec Man!

Right now it is the igloo fest if that interests you. Electronic music at night in the snowy Vieux Port de Montréal, very comfy.

What kind of music do you like cuz my suggestions will depend on it. Otherwise for stuff to see I recommend the Vieux-Montréal obviously that you will probably end up walking in many days cuz it's very touristic and comfy. Otherwise basic walking stuff involve usually climbing the Mont Royal, the Oratoire Saint Joseph, largest church in Canada and largest dome church in the world, the Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce cemetery, largest cemetery of Canada. The Montréal underground is pretty comfy as well, a network of underground tunnels in the metro with shops and shit. A walk in the plateau is also something tourists appreciate for some reason, due to the comfy hipster apartments and the small cafés. You can go ice skating either in the underground of the Miles de la Gauchetière, tallest skyscraper in Montréal, or on the canal Lachine. Perhaps in the old Port of Montréal if you like museums you may like Musée Pointe a Callieres or the Centre des sciences de Montréal, or we have the Musée Grevin (wax) and Musée des Beaux Arts as well. If you like hipster architecture go check out Habitat 67,the Olympic Stadium, the Montréal Casino on Saint Helen Island (can be accessed by metro).

If you go out in bars/nightclubs I recommend avoiding the Saint Laurent ones because they are either filled Americans or 17 year old, although a few locals go party there. For food again it depends what you like, Schwartz Smoked Meat is unironically quite good and it belong to Celine Dion so... Otherwise for poutine it is true that LA Banquise is good but be ready to wait for a long time. Chez Mamm Bolduc is quite good as well and my favorite but then again if someone starts talking about poutine like it's some elite meal that can only be cooked one way punch him in the face please.

Anyway if you want to know more let me know.

They will like you for trying French.

However if you are like the asshole panhandlers who only speak English, you will not be respected.

Don't even think about hitting on local girls. If you don't speak French your are basically trash to them.

Kek my nigga

Many people do, just don't act like the obnoxious Anglo merchant who still thinks this is the 1800s and talk to us like we are uneducated low IQ peasants only good to work in his factory, cause that is how you end up with videos of drunk Québécois bullying Chinese kids.

Pretty much this, people will hate Anglo Canadians who come to us and act superior, we didnt learn English to please them, we learned English because we live in an American world.

Make an attempt and no they won't hate you. Just understand some people are more sensitive to the language issue and feel invaded in this city. If you stay in downtown and the west of the island you shouldn't be too bad, staff at restaurant and stores will know English and won't miss a sale just because of their convictions. Tell yourself that if you speak basic French and funny Quebec slang at a bar people will probably pay you shots and be more inclined to practice their English with you.

This

Mmmmhhhh I wouldn't say so, but yeah it's rare to see French Canadians with anglos. OP should be good hitting on the McGill Anglo sluts with rich parents 4 provinces away though.

Tought I would complete my posts with comfy snowy Montréal pics

If you hang around Atwater station near Dawson College you might have a chance with some traitor bitch that got sent to an Anglo CEGEP.

Don't worry, we got Dawson under incel watch.

Are you the German who said went to Dawson cegep? I think I saw you post before. Desu the Anglo rules don't apply to you and foreigners even if your French is awful. We had a few German exchange students at high school and they were all handsome funny lads.
