Yes
Retirement Compliance Analysis
Yes, because I have 0 customer service responsibilities

Open offices are fucking cancer. And yes I have decent job, but I'm on progress of switching to more comfy job.

I wish I had a comfy office job

Cubicles are for slaves.

Yep
Scan documents, shred documents, ask people to sign paperwork, make spreadsheets
Ya because it occupies my time and I'm capable enough of feigning work to spend a good chunk of my day reading articles. Don't care for the work itself but it's tolerable.

I drive one of these badboys

I also do carpentry

>What do you do?
I'm a pilot, first officer flying big ass transport planes.
>Do you like it?
Yeah, it's fun to take off and go above the skies. Especially just cruising around in the skies being dependent on the radar only. Only bad side is that i sit myself to death.

>Whether yes or no, for what reasons?
I like it. Good pay and colleagues. I got this small Cessna which i can fly to Italy in a few hours if i want to.

I'm a laid-off construction worker, NEETing on EI for the winter. I like physical outdoor work but don't think I want to do it when I'm older. Am learning IT stuff so hopefully I can get a help desk job.

>Ya because it occupies my time and I'm capable enough of feigning work to spend a good chunk of my day reading articles

Am I retarded?
All office jobs I had seemed like all you have to do is 30 mins of actual work and the rest of the day you just pretend to work and "look busy". It seemed that way to me. Are all office jobs like that?

>What?
Development team manager.
>like it?
Yes since I don't have to code anymore. Being a programmer is horrible imo.
>why?
Programming sucks ass. having your face glued to a fucking screen typing shit is horrible. I prefer my job: PowerPoints, replying to hundreds of emails, getting feedback from everyone everyday and rethinking my strategies, it's way more interesting than being a code monkey

>>What do you do?
IT ''''support'''''
>>Do you like it?
Not really
>>Whether yes or no, for what reasons?
I feel like I only do it because I don't know how to do anything else

Pajeet?

Noice, really nice

You're too old for IT, gramps.

Fun job with good pay.

>I prefer my job: PowerPoints, replying to hundreds of emails, getting feedback from everyone everyday and rethinking my strategies, it's way more interesting than being a code monkey
Perfectly sums it up.
I've been in 3rd line support for over a year than got promoted as a coordinator/analyst in the same project.
I do help with programming and maintenance sometimes and I do make sure the documentation is updated but it's just a side thing. Never been happier.

To think that few years ago I would laugh at people whos "work" relies almost entirely on office suites.
I will take libreoffice and Evolution over any IDE any day.
And I get paid better so lmao

No also I'm the one of like two non Indians which is another reason I don't really like it

Maybe its just us not living in the first world

most office I know are like that, 10 hours a day, 2 hours of work and 8 making shut up so the bosses dont get all uppity

>What do you do?
Currency control document screener in the Russian branch of certain international bank. Basically, I search through all kinds of documents sent by corporate clients under transactions we process for crucial info (like company owners/execs/beneficiaries/contractors, countries of goods origin/destination, banks, vessels, etc) which may in any way violate sanctions legislation, type it in, and feed it to the sanctions data base. If there happens to be a match with a sanctioned entity, I decide whether it should be escalated to a higher level or write a disposition as to why it should not. Of course, it's double-checked, so I don't do anything on my own. There are some nuances to that, but this is 95% of my job. Not very challenging, to say the least, and basically the only requirement is functional English.
>Do you like it?
>Whether yes or no, for what reasons?
I can't complain about it. It's not very demanding intellectually, in all honesty, so this kinda sucks.

Initially I hated the very idea of working in an open space environment, but it grew on me. But I don't see myself here in the long term, probably.

Programmer
Yes
You are really working few hours, other time spent to self education and chit chat with qt (really, despite stereotypes about IT girls) collegues

>What do you do?
Research at university
>Do you like it?
Love it
>Whether yes or no, for what reasons?
Because I literally get paid to do my biggest hobby. Also on most days I can come to the office at 2pm or just not come in at all and nobody gives a fuck.

hacker elite, hacking for the glory of China

Attached: chinawillgrowgtanh.jpg (1024x682, 435K)

do you have to be a genius to do that or can you just research normal obvious stuff without worrying that you will get fired?

no, my previous office job was very performance oriented. Lots of pressure to provide good results. Now I work onsite, so I travel around to other companies offices. That gives me more time to relax (driving, meeting and talking to people etc.)

Data Analyst
No I don’t like it.
Better than being a rag picker at the dump though.

well you need a PhD to do actual research, but looking at some of my coworkers it's arguable whether you need to be actually intelligent to get a PhD

there are also "research assistant" jobs which don't require a graduate degree but these are more like code monkeys or lab monkeys so not very enjoyable imo. there are also more research job options in the industry but that depends heavily on the field

your a kike... they would keep you on a short leash till you claim holocaust.

Do you work in the public or private sector? Public sector office jobs usually involve almost no actual work. Working for a corporation will slowly kill you. I’ve done both.

>Software Engineer
>I do like it
>Money, great work life balance, lots to learn

what is your work?

IT consultant

I've worked private sector office job (Engineering) for one of the biggest TELECOM here in Brazil and it was literally the worst time of my life, I literally started having palpitations and waking up at night with irregular heartbeat because of the stress of the job

>10hours p/day
>my "boss" (or manager so to speak) was from Chile and could barely speak Portuguese, his Spanish was really thick and hard to understand
>guy was a jackass
>I was the only guy responsible for migration of a whole suite of services for all of the Central region of Brazil
>guy literally at the same time demanded I started developing a program for it (the fuck? I'm not a programmer you idiot)
>had arguments with him because of his retardation
>literally in an office of 30 people, EVERYONE STOPPED TALKING TO ME because they didn't have the guts to stand up to the guy
>spent another 6 months where literally no one, not even my boss would talk to me
>quit after that

Fuck that. Fuck it, just fuck it, NEVER again.

what does an IT consultant do exactly?

3200 a month. Live alone. Work 4 days a week.

They specialise in a certain field of IT and sell their knowledge/skill to a customer.

Is there good money to be made in this field?

a bowl of sopa de macaco would have calmed you down.

American office set ups are like open air prisons.

Whats it like and how is the pay?

My boys.

Attached: 3c7.jpg (249x249, 17K)

Do you have a shitter up there?

I work from 8 till 5 with a 30mn break
It takes me round an hour to go to work, take a train and a bus.
I work in Germany in cst service.
Pays is shit, often work on Saturdays too.

I don't really mind it, but I always feel like I don't have any life outside work.

I work for a hardware store, helping people load and unload their orders, basically manual labour
I liked it a lot beter a while ago when I was working in high school, but now I feel like I am not going anywhere with my life

Trucking 3500 a month. Im basically a piece of flesh that has no meaning no Future in life. 'Hur dur heres your delivery' good money but no wife or gf only sluts.

>What do you do?
Software engineer aka Code Monkey
>Do you like it?
Yes
>Whether yes or no, for what reasons?
Great pay, no interaction with customers, learning progression.

I work for an engineering firm and when I saunter around the office it seems like almost everyone there is always dutifully working. But I'm not an engineer, and the people within my department do a lot of web-surfing. One guy plays vidya on his work pc, but most of the others read the news or gossip sites.

That's really cool, man. I've thought about getting a private license somewhere down the line when I'm finished with my degree. Seems like a fun hobby to get into.

I train employees to and improve upon a quality assurance program at a food production plant.

>50% desk time
>50% factory time
>yes I like it

>everyone on Jow Forums pretends to be in favour of capitalism until you actually start talking about work
>the only ones defending capitalism by the end of the thread are literally NEETS and maybe two brainwashed americans
It's like fucking poetry.

I like the terms of my employment but only because my life is so empty elsewhere. If I had anything better going on I'm sure I'd resent it.

I sell vapes and vaporizer accessorys.

>haha vapenaysh dude!

Everytime.

>What do you do?
Commercial lawyer
>Do you like it?
No
>Whether yes or no, for what reasons?
(i) hours are too long (usually 8am - 8pm, plus frequent weekend work), plus you need to be 'on call' 24/7 to drop whatever you're doing and attend to urgent work. The concept of 'overtime' doesn't exist;
(ii) everything has to be done perfectly, down to the most insignificant detail, else there will be consequences;
(iii) no opportunity for creativity or abstract thinking - the work is a matter of knowing, finding, following precedents;
(iv) you have to keep detailed records of everything you do on every file, which will track your annual billable hours. You're expected to reach a high target, even though much of your work will be non-billable which you get no credit for, and you'll fall behind quickly if you take vacation days;
(v) almost everyone you deal with, whether colleagues, opposing counsel, or your clients, will demand to be serviced instantly, will give you vague instructions to make sense of, and will generally be difficult to deal with and will give no consideration for your personal life, time, or other work assignments you have;
(vi) no matter how great your work product is, it is difficult to differentiate yourself from a regular 'good' work product because the client is rarely sophisticated enough to notice a difference between good and great drafting;
(vii) almost all of your work will have incredibly tight, usually artificial, deadlines. A senior lawyer or client may have been sitting on the legal issue for months, but only turn to you on the weekend before its due;
(viii) you're expected to go get clients for the firm in addition to doing the work itself, which are not complementary skillsets, and the you're given minimal instructions on how to excel in the business side of the job;
(ix) you're expected to go out and get drunk with your colleagues when they want you to, and to prioritize them above anyone else in your life;

Teacher
Yes I like it.

Being a pilot is my dream job, seems expensive to get into though. I'll probably end up in some trading job when I graduate

how would communism make their life any better?

Maybe read a book.

NEET
I fucking love this '''job'''. All you have to do is sitting in your chair, watching some anime, and going to sleep whenever you want.
I can't get a proper job

are you allowed to listen to music and if so what do you listen to?
