Pic related is the rail map for holland in 2016. Going from one side of the country to the other (Goes to Groningen) takes you 4 hours and 15 minutes.

most towns have busses.

The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Amsterdam and their surroundings have trams and metro systems. Heerlen, Groningen, Haarlem, Arnhem, Leiden and Nijmegen used to have trams but abandoned their tram systems.

There are also small ferries that are counted as public transport.

We don't have BRT's here in SJC.

Everyone just drives cars.

Where i live it takes 3 and a half hours to move 100km by train.

And you only need to take 2 diferent trains

This I guess. We have county bus stops but no buses actually go to them

We only got buses in my city. In general the service is pretty good tho.
They are also building a BRT and there are plans for a metropolitan rail line but only god knows when the fuck will they start building it.
