Lmao you can’t get sent to office for not pledging the allegiance. The problem was the student who instigated the situation. The teacher simply asked the student to pledge the allegiance and the kid went on a tirade calling the flag racist and so on. If he had simply declined, there wouldn’t have been an issue. You’re allowed to not pledge the allegiance. People do it all the time, I myself did it quite often. The issue, was predictably the attitude and escalation of the kid. Use your brain, if not pledging the allegiance was illegal there’d be a lot more fucking arrests.

The teacher supposedly said that the kid can leave. If the kid leaves or is absent without permission, the police (or some other "authority") will show up and take the kid by force. If the kid, or anyone else, feels upset about the situation, the police (or some other "authority") shows up and escalates use of force until they shut up and deal with it.
