I think due to nerves he pressed the trigger. It happens to me when i'm stressed and tired. I sometimes do a test where you have to press a button when something flashes on the screen and it happens there. I would imagine it's much more grinding on a cop. I would agree that he didn't do it on purpose, but how do you avoid that mistake ?

Britons are hyper autistic when it comes to matters of dignity. So when they see examples of American police brutality on the telly, they're like "oi chaps we can't be racist against the negro, pass more laws chip chip!" So they treat minorities with kid gloves, which in itself is racist, as you're not expecting minorities to meet the same standard of behavior set for white people.
