Do Muslims follow the same week as us? Or does their week have more/less days? What days do they work and what days are generally off?

first day of the week for us is Sunday not Monday. This makes our holiday days Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday.

Weekends are Fridays and Saturdays, Thursdays in the ME are what Fridays are in Western countries. On Fridays, work days are usually shorter and some businesses don't even open on Fridays.

I wonder why MENA never became to Europe what Turkey is to Europe. I mean, Turkey is economically integrated with Europe, they export a lot of stuff there, a lot of European companies have their factories in Turkey, while you don't see anything like that in Morrocco, Algeria or Egypt, even though they used to be European colonies, people usually speak European languages (French or English) and are even closer to the core of Europe than Turkey is.

Here it is not allowed for the Khutbah and prayer to be longer than 20 minutes together. So mosques that follow this law (the vast majority) wouldn't last as long as you do.

My grandma used to tell me before WW2 when we still had a lot of Jews in Poland, catholic shops were open on Saturdays but closed on Sundays, while Jewish shops were closed on Saturdays but open on Sundays, so you could do the shopping every day in the weekend and still everyone was fine because he could celebrate his holy day.

Unfortunately, now we don't have Jews anymore and on Sundays all shops are closed so you can't buy anything.

I only pray on fridays but today my little brother pointed at a mosque and told me that there are cars there and a lot of people are going so he wanted to go. So I went to and prayed even though it is thursday. Today was a good day.
