Random Germanic facts for today:
Proto Germanic r-stem nouns included only kinship words for father, mother, sister, brother, and daughter.
Their genitive ending *-urz lost the final *-z in West and North Germanic languages and that is why words like Old English fæder don't have a genitive ending at first glance but Gothic for example has, so that fæder can mean both 'father' and 'father's' in Old English, but in Gothic you would have a distinction between fadar (father) and fadrs (father's). Old Norse would lack the final -s marker in father as well: faðir > föður, unlike a say a-stem that would have the marker: garðr > garðs; maðr > manns etc.

Pas grand chose, vous avez aussi beaucoup de variations à même la France. Je trouve nombre de vos accents très charmants. Je déteste le français parisien la plupart du temps par contre et la profanation de la langue par des déchets lexicaux empruntés à l'Afrique
Then maybe it's time to git gud and become one. (^:

It's "carta" instead of "cartera". And corrections regarding the intermidiate sentences: Necesito *que repares* este móvil... El sólo tomó *toda la cerveza* en su casa. ...el supermercado más *cercano* *Todos* los documentos que necesitaríamos *ya han sido destruidos* ..voy a viajar *alrededor* del mundo

"Gå på bio" is essentially a general expression for simply going to see a movie at a cinema, as if it is an event, rather than saying that you're going to a physical location.

I was with my friends today and one of them was browsing Dungeons and Dragons memes on Reddit. One he came across was a joke about calling the Monster Manual the "Waifu Catalogue", and I was seconds away from responding with "It's the Kowaifu Catalogue" (a pun on the Japanese word "kowai", meaning "scary") before I realized that none of my friends would get it. I was happy that I thought of a pun so naturally, but then I was sad because I didn't get to share it :( so now I'm sharing it with you.
Christopher Baker
Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing, user.

How dumb would it be to get good enough at grammar in one language then do it to the same level in another language and then start learning vocabulary in the two side by side so when you learn the word for something you have two languages to bounce the memorisation off. I reckon it would help overall progress.
If I were German, I'd want to be named Konrad or Ludwig

How many words do you guys study per day ? I'm trying to improve my English so I'm learning 15 words a day alongside their meaning in Arabic and an example sentence. I'm using an anki deck called "4000 essential English words" and I have finished 700 words so far.
Aaron Brooks
Nice pun, user. Actually kowaifu is a pretty dang accurate pun for the Nightmare threads over at /aco/.
Justin Moore
Stopped using my 5K Spanish deck a while ago. I use LWT which counts each form of a word as its own word while you read. I've created and defined 17717 words in the past year which is like 50 words a day.

>visitare Italia visitare l'Italia >con li con loro >le verdure This could work without the article too, but it's fine like this as well, since it refers to a general concept >Ti ho bisogno sistemare "Ho bisogno di te per sistemare", but this sounds more like "I need you in order to fix": from a strict point of view, the subject of sistemare is "io". "Ho bisogno che tu sistemi" conveys that "tu" is the subject of "sistemare" >per figlio mio per mio figlio >ha bevuto appena This is "he drank just" (as in, only). "Ha appena bevuto" is "He just drank" >le tutte birre nella sua casa tutte le birre in casa sua >Il tavolo Il nuovo tavolo >a parco Al parco >a bottega Al negozio. Bottega is an old-fashioned term for an artisan's shop >Vada [al negozio] e mi comprato Vada is technically correct if you're using courtesy, as non-2nd singular/plural person imperative forms just borrow from subjunctive. Consequently, the latter would be "mi compri". But if you're talking to a normal person you know, it's just going to be "Vai al negozio e comprami" >bottiglie dell'acqua Just "bottiglie d'acqua" >Ci sono nulla denari Non è rimasto denaro. Denaro already means "money", the plural is rarely used and it usually refers to old coins >in questo camera in questa camera/in questa stanza >Ho bisogno viaggio a New York Ho bisogno di partire per New York >ogni treni sono in ritardo tutti i treni sono in ritardo. "Ogni treno è in ritardo" is "every train is delayed"
