Pashto is indo-European like Hindi and Punjabi and Kashmiri and Gujarati. Central Asian languages are not. They are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

That doesn’t negate what I said about istan being from Persian influence. It doesn’t imply the people are Persian/Iranian. Heck the Sikhs are trying to name their country “Khalistan” or something like that.

Tajiks are visually way way different from Pashtuns and other Indians. You can tell this just by looking at them.
Lots of peoples speak languages that don’t match their genes. North Africa for example.

Persia was buffer zone between Turkics and Arabs. After certain period and reduction of Arab influx in Central Asia, Persian islam became main source of forming muslim Turkic lifestyle. All that came concerning islamic stuff was passed down to Turks by Persians and they sucked it all up before and after they migrated to Iran and thus implemented it as their culture when they conquered Anatolia. But Persia did rule fair amount of Central Asia even before islam so some established influence was there.
