Where is the best place to work a season and then travel? I don't like to spend my money to see things, I want to at least break even and get among the people, and get around myself not on a bus. Have been looking at Alaskan fishing but have a farming background.

Sure, but there's great nature in a lot places and most of them aren't as devoid of cultural attractions as US, so it's not really high on my travel list.

Tech work in the cheaper states to live is your best bet for that. Not a meme thing like programming, that'll just land you a job in silicon valley where all of your money will go to rent. For example a Computer Network Architect in America has a median 100k salary and jobs for that are available in most parts of the US. That's extremely comfortable with plenty of extra money you could spend on vacations. Suburban New York if you want to see the Northeast easily, Arizona for the middle of the country and west coast, or Florida for the southern parts.

Yes, it is. Don't go to the south, the border counties or major cities (ie any areas with shitskins) and the US is effectively identical to western/central Europe when it comes to crime. Fortunately for you none of those regions have anything of value to them for tourists so you would be set.
