Kinda. Here in Texas there is a group of people that are called "gypsies", They are not Romanian but Irish. In fact the PC name for them is "Irish travelers" or just "Travelers".

Yea it used to be legal to hang them without trial in Finland too. Nordic nations (and EU) at least are trying to set a humanitarian example so genociding them is out of the question. They are currently being managed in a way that there are efforts made to try to keep them away from other people so as to try to minimize the harm they do to other people. They also have citizenship in their countries and are acknowledged as minor ethnicities. They speak their own variation of the language, they have their own flag etc. I aggree that the way we have been treating them so far clearly isn't working since even after five centuries they haven't shown any signs of integration. We tried, and it didn't work. Gypsies believe that integrating into civilisation is shameful, and they actively ostracise gypsy families or individuals who choose to live a normal life. Gypsy children who decide not to leave school and learn manners are reprimanded by their parents, because being literate and behaving like a normal person is oppressive and anti-gypsy. Zhivkov's Bulgaria and Ceauşescu's Romania tried more direct measures to find a final solution to the gypsy question and EVEN THEY failed. That's right, not even a socialist dictator literally inspired by North Korea like Ceauşescu was able to get gypsies to adapt.

They seriously wont get employed. It's not that they couldn't get employed (they are humans afterall with working limbs) but instead that they refuse to get employed and will do everything they can to make themselves unemployable.
