The actual problem has more to do with who was allowed into the priesthood during the decades where abuse was rampant, and the systems in place that allowed them to cover up these abuses, both of which have since been reformed heavily. No one's trying to defend the people responsible for this especially since most of the abusers are now so old that the statute of limitations even has run out on them, a bunch of 20-somethings on Jow Forums do not have any vested interest in defending homo-boomers.
