Honestly I don't think China would fully commit to helping Pakistan. Yes they'd likely send weapons, supplies, advisors, and maybe even supplementary troops and airpower, I'm not certain you'd see waves of Chinese infantry rushing across the Thar Desert. I think if they were convinced that the government of Pakistan was in real danger of collapse, they would make arrangements to preserve the New silk Road project with whoever would have control of the territory that the project is being built in. If it turns out to be no one in particular, they will secure it themselves.

Fair point, but I'd counter that a lot of China's industry is concentrated on it's Eastern coast, meaning the supplies it produces would have to be transported through air or land routes given that there is no easy sea access from China to Pakistan. This means that China supplying Pakistan would be extremely expensive and difficult, enough so to severely diminish any logistical edge Pakistan might have from having China as an ally.
