Why didn't Irish people eat fish during the great potato famine? They were surrounded by sea so they could just have eaten fish
If I was born during Irish potato famine I would have told Irish people to eat fish and saved everyone to become known as a hero of Ireland for generations to come

t. Conan O'Brien
Yes I was born in a fishing village
We have these nets called Chinese fishing nets that we have been using for several hundred years now. The fishermen and their children go and submerge the nets in the water for around five minutes or so and then the net is lifted.
I have also caught fish when I was young by using makeshift rods we would make by tying string to a bamboo stick and bending a wire to make a hook in the end. Not very fruitful and needs patience.
The famine didn't kill the Irish, forcing Ireland to export food during a famine did. Every time there is Irish famine thread this is discussed, pay attention next time.
