>just got my EU elections letter
Did you get your EU elections letters(the ones that give you the location of your voting station)?

I know nothing about these elections, probably not even gonna vote, we have our own elections coming next month
>I know nothing about these elections, probably not even gonna vote, we have our own elections coming next month.
>I know nothing about these elections
>probably not even gonna vote
Really?
Why should I, we have little to no power in Brussels, why does it matter who we elect?
the EU parliament is elected
your Finnish vote has the exact same impact as my German vote
>we have no power
>let's not vote!
Sure but we still stay in irrelevant role after said elections
I suppose I could vote for someone who was against article 13 but still
You can elect someone who's policies you like. That's the whole pointing of voting. Also there is no such thing as little to no power. It is power.
your nation is far smaller than Germany or France or Italy
logically it has less influence
what do you expect?
politico.eu
Info on how to vote.
politico.eu
If you are undecided this quiz helps you find the MEPs that agree the most with you.
I realize that, and that's why I'm more interested about our own upcoming parliamentary elections
You keep your 4th reich
fucking hell
>your Finnish vote has the exact same impact as my German vote
Did you guys read Macron's appeal to Europeans? I think he had some pretty good points
>logically it has less influence
That is not true. Every nation has the option to veto. Doesn't matter how small it is. Don't you know anything about the EU?
I went to the local voting station last time and spat in the face of the bitch handing out ballot papers. I then preceded to rip the little EU flags off the wall use them as toilet paper for the week ahead.
>equal minimal wage all around Europe
I'm ok with that but how do they plan to implement it?
No idea, probably adjusted to the country's cost of living?
nice arguments lmao
keep seething
I have citizenship in two EU countries and will be voting for whatever candidates are anti-EU and pro-US and NATO :)
>inb4 "thank you for your service"
there is no need for that, I am just doing my duty to protect EVROPA from itself
Can't have all 3
pay denbts
Here comes the brainwashed amerigoons
EU isn't going anywhere, US is losing influence all over the world and unironically saying "evropa" makes you cringy autist
>this is the person calling you NPC
lmao
>harmonious coexistence
why are you so mad? American hegemony is good for EVROPA
the Krautoid caveman-tier savages will cause another World War if left unchecked, we EVROPEans need more bases there, as well as a permanent American presence in Poland
imagine being this asshurt
You know those schemes were a state pays a % of a worker's wage? Maybe they can do that while paying out of a common EU budget, over a period of time, slowly decreasing the EU's share of the wage.
He is a genuine autist. He used to make the ''grexit'' and the ''''''EU'''''' is shit threads. It's always the same person with a Greek flag. It's probably a Turk like the autistic German flag.
kinda sad really
This would cost rich countries a lot of money so I have a hard time thinking they won't oppose it.
why does the EU even have a parliament, whats the benefit?
Try electing a competent president first
It's because of him that US dollar is about to mean fuck all and NATO is crumbling too, meaning EU army is needed more than ever
lol
You can only vote for a) your home country, b) the country you are living in and registered to vote. You gotta chose one or the other (you don't have to return to your country to vote there ofc), you can't vote twice.
To make EU laws
The EU is a democratic organization so there's a Parliament to represent the will of the people.
The eu is a corrupt and backwards shithole
Fuck the EU if bulgaria is in it
I didn´t even know there was an EU election until recently. No one ever told me or talks about it at all, and I never got a letter either.
>why yes everybody benefits from the eu
It's the same for every western country. Poor countries have an easier time growing than developed countries
so either the EU or national parliaments are redundant
based
Of course.
I'm in a bind here. I'm not really a federalist but for euro to work, euro countries need a common fiscal policy. Other option is to vote for people wanting to leave euro but they are all öyh öyh people who would want to leave EU too and I like common markets. Should I just say fuck it and vote for a federalist or what?
Vote Green.
Probably.
There are some proposals about funding the EU with it's own taxes on finnancial transactions. Dunno how much revenue that would raise, but I expect it would be a lot.
It is your local government's job to tell you about it. I got my letter.
Having a national government doesn't make your town council or state governor redundant, does it?
A common fiscal policy would benefit everyone
That or left party, these quizes put me on pretty left position because I don't see Israel as a state and I'm for danctioning Poland and Hungary
Vote for those who wish to accept Somalis.
But there are a few countries that are(or were) against more integration and since every country no matter how small matters the further integration was stopped. England was the big country against integration and how they are going out so more integration and common fiscal policy might become a thing in a few years.
>US dollar is about to mean fuck all
no evidence of this
>NATO is crumbling
maybe in your feeble Brusselbot mind as you cry and jerk off your feeble little NEET needledick to Herr Juncker
>EU army is needed
it's not happening and hopefully the US will carpetbomb Germany for annexing its allies if it does
I wanted to vote green, but we don't really have independent greens in Portugal. I'm probably gonna vote S&D on the elections.
It wouldn't benefit Ireland and it shouldn't, they are a bunch of thieves.
This would be increasing the taxation of most people, I doubt any party would want to do a movement like this.
The EU needs a common fiscal policy and to have a way to increase the economy of its poorer countries but simply adding even more taxes won't make it.
I'm gonna vote for André "ciganada? CHEGA-me a espingarda!" Ventura
didn't even vote the last time, but what this country and the EU in general need is a bit more Populism
Germany opposes many integration schemes because they are afraid of getting saddled with more bills. They tend to prefer the status quo overall. Still, power has shifted, yes.
absolutely based
thank you for helping protect EVROPA
Going to vote pro EU army and integration, anti US, Israel and Russia and pro doing business with China candidate. Now where to find one...
the euro hasn't shown much success either
federalisation is still far away even if they are strong this election they will at max only implement little things. pretty safe to vote for them now if even if you are mostly in favor of the status quo.
Also I am strongly in favor of federalisation so please gibb vote.
I'd advise you against taking that quiz or any political quiz for that matter since you are just giving your possible voting pattern to a third party that will try and influence you region with targeted ads based on your IP.
I am not joking and i and absolutely serious. You can bet your ass that America, Russia and China are going to try and affect the elections in the EU.
Most people don't move funds around the world that much, tho.
>not even 20 years old
>2nd most important global payment currency by a small margin
>hasn't shown much success
I tried and it didn't tell me shit
Am I on a watch list for removinf Russian sanctions
How so? Pretty good being second for comparably new currency. There's no overthrowing US dollar them being the only superpower in the world.
See here
Is there no middle ground where there are people against federalisation but for EU cooperation/integration? For the internal market and fiscal policy to work there must be EU integration in some areas but fuck things like a EU army desu
Companies do, if they have to pay more they will just increase the price of their services.
Federalisation will only further the devastation of the periphery.
There's a middle ground, it's called defending the status quo, and I believe most political parties are already in this position.
I wuz ALDE and shit
>Portuguese candidate with the highest percent is 56.06%
wtf is the point of this piece of shit "elections" if we don't have pan-European lists?
Friendly reminder
>The proposal was initially pushed by the Greens
politico.eu
Eh, I'm not very worried. Those sentiments are already out in the open. CDU is allied with CPC, has been for years, they aren't pulling the hood over anyone's eyes. I think who is supporting who is clear enough.
Elections here are pen-and-paper, so no direct hacking issues either.
Link?
>pan-European lists?
We already have pan-European parties that incorporate parties from all European countries. Our biggest party GERB right now is EPP(European People's Party) aligned. Google your candidate up to see where his position stands.
noice
wish they had presence here
elysee.fr
It's translated in all the languages too which I found pretty tasteful
>It's translated in all the languages too which I found pretty tasteful
Nice, i might read the whole thing, only heard about it on the news.
Reminder
the eu bailed the banks not countries
the quiz says my most aligned candidate is from fucking Poland and if I pick just show national candidates I get a nonsensical group of Center-right and Communist MEPs
honestly this would be a lot easier if we could just pick a Eurogroup to give votes to...
Can't do that since the EU is not a federation or a single nation state. If the EU becomes a federation/nation state you'll be able to vote for that Polish candidate you are most aligned with but not right now.
>This is another "we are going to rebuild europe and fight nationalism" episode
Just end this madness already
Gonna vote for Fidesz. Fuck Brussels.
I like the idea of the EU, but I feel like the EU itself already has too much control. They've built up an extensive network of bureaucracy and they've amassed influence over the individual states. I'm all in favor of our states cooperating as much as possible since that will be the only way Europe can keep being on top, but I reject the idea of a single EU state. If I were to decide, I would only keep the EU council, the EU commission and the ECB.
Cooperate as much as possible, but control and dictate as little as possible.
voting anyone who kills the gypsy king and gypsies like this shitstain
t. jew-gypsy-migrant
Eh, it says a lot more imo
You clearly don't know how the EU works.
>all those standards for goods of any kind
>all those consumer protection laws
>all those worker protection laws
>all laws concerned with research and development
>all those paws about healthcare and human rights protection
>etc.
The paperwork is needed and a complex system like this one can't function without it. If you want something simple go for despotism and get a tyrant to rule over you. No paperwork just the word of the glorious leader.
cigány barna alember imádkozz meg ne találjunk
Not to me, this is just classic macron-speach
This is way too late to do anything, and Macron doesn't decide anything anyway
>Founded on internal reconciliation, the European Union has forgotten to look at the realities of the world. Yet no community can create a sense of belonging if it does not have bounds that it protects. The boundary is freedom in security. We therefore need to rethink the Schengen area: all those who want to be part of it should comply with obligations of responsibility (stringent border controls) and solidarity (one asylum policy with the same acceptance and refusal rules). We will need a common border force and a European asylum office, strict control obligations and European solidarity to which each country will contribute under the authority of a European Council for Internal Security. On the issue of migration, I believe in a Europe that protects both its values and its borders.
>The same standards should apply to defence. Substantial progress has been made in the last two years, but we need to set a clear course: a treaty on defence and security should define our fundamental obligations in association with NATO and our European allies: increased defence spending, a truly operational mutual defence clause, and the European Security Council with the United Kingdom on board to prepare our collective decisions.
>Our borders also need to guarantee fair competition. What power in the world would accept continued trade with those who respect none of their rules? We cannot suffer in silence. We need to reform our competition policy and reshape our trade policy with penalties or a ban in Europe on businesses that compromise our strategic interests and fundamental values such as environmental standards, data protection and fair payment of taxes; and the adoption of European preference in strategic industries and our public procurement, as our American and Chinese competitors do.
Sounds basically like European nationalism to me desu
I'd be helluva lot more pro EU if EU would close its borders.
based España
As soon as it got proposed all the nation states were like >muh border rights, >muh EU centralization bad
