Keyboard - learnt for 3 years then started self learning, now playing for 9 years
Guitar - when I joined uni I wanted to play guitar to impress girls so I asked a senior to teach me chords, eventually ended up applying my keyboard knowledge to play guitar and now I can improvise easily even though I don't actually know any scales on the guitar
Bass - bassist in my band asked me to give a try on the bass and now I can play fingerbass (somewhat), still need to learn some unique licks though. I can only play basic licks and know what notes the different frets are.
Drums - there was a competition in our uni and no one was representing our batch/class so they just picked me to go and play drums as well, a senior taught me some basic drumming and following that I've been practicing whenever I get time so I can now do funk drumming, R&B drumming
Went for Violin classes for 8 months but got bored of it
