Turkey always had some special relations with Germany. It's been like that for the last 300 years. Alot of products are exported there and in exchange we help them with other things. The markets are more connected than you think. They have some different trade and visa regulations than most other countries. They dont need visa and germs dont need a visa there.

These "Indonesians" you speak about were mostly Dutch-speaking half-Indonesian, half-Dutch, who came here between '45-'65. because of the Indonesian Revolution. They had to flee and it was relatively easily for them to integrate into Dutch society (except for Moluccans but that's another story).
The 60's saw the arrival of the Morrocans and the Turks who were supposed to be temporary workers, but decided to stay and bring over their families. Integration was hard and much, much more different from that of the Dutch Indonesians.
