English is a superior language that has produced a much greater body of quality literature

I mentioned Infinite Jest, I bought it on a friend's recommendation a few weeks ago and literally read the first couple of chapters this afternoon. I sincerely apologise for offending you, O Mighty One

sadly its true

Did you say something, Hans?

English is a superior language to Spanish (though I must say I don't dislike the Spanish language in itself, I am rather indifferent towards it - only the hideous French language deserves total contempt).

British literature is superior to Spanish literature.

English-language literature is superior to Spanish-language literature.

El ingles es una lengua abyecta, basica y fea, el español es un regalo de dios.

Toda la literatura en ingles es una porqueria, la lengua inglesa es incapaz de transmitir belleza.

>subhuman monolingual goblinoid thinks he's in a position to judge languages
English is the poorest European language. An autistic analytic mess that shed all the ubiquitous grammatical expression tools like elementary inflection. It's an artistically impotent husk.
>British literature
Aside from the great bard and a few good poets the Brits have produced virtually nothing of merit. All good English-language literature is Irish. Now shush, double digit IQ pseud.

>spanish

>It's an artistically impotent husk
If you think autistic obsession over strict grammatical rules regarding 'der' or 'die' makes a language beautiful, you're artistically impotent

Why do you chaps always revert to this argument when bemoaning the prevalence of the English tongue?

:^)

>All good English-language literature is Irish
Ireland has almost no native worthwhile authors or authoresses, they were all - with one exception - Anglo-Irish (the word the Irish invented to pretend that their English 'oppressors' weren't responsible for everything decent about their country)

Do tell us more about how beautiful the German language is

Attached: Glyptodon_2.jpg (1600x774, 452K)

It's not the grammatical rules, it's the underlying grammatical mechanisms that make languages expressively rich. When you strip those, their functions have to be poorly emulated through other means, which can't nearly provide the level of nuance in turn making the language much more rigid and clumsy when it comes to subtleties. It's not really an opinion it's a linguistic fact.
>Anglo-Irish
Purest cope.

>A Confederacy of Dunces

Unironically the worst book I've ever read.

I think that Confederacy of Dunces is a very American book and you have to know people like Ignatius or live in American culture to really “get it”
