protip that the part of [8-3(4-2)] belongs to 2, you can't get rid of bracket and put it on numerator
16/2 isn't in brackets, so going from left to right, you calculate 16/2, which is 8, and then multiply it by the bracketed number to get 16, and then add 1 to get 17
