Does the USA really have police officers and security checkpoints at schools?

We have discussed this many times, yes.

Only in really poor areas because of the drug epidemic.

>police officers
they're called SROs and theyre assigned to schools that have a lot of "crime" or sometimes any school if the middle class parents are schizo enough about it
>security checkpoints
only in ghettos and places that get threatened

security in most schools consist of locked doors that you have to buzz in to enter but theyre easy to get around

What type of drug epidemic is it? What drug is being used?
Thanks for the detailed explanation
I hope things get better over there

depends on the area, in the midwest officers only came to our school if 911 was called or sometimes for drug checks. we didnt have security

I only experience this when I was going to middle school in Compton. There were police officers at every exit and would inspect your backpack and wand you down. Got my pap confiscated this way

Psp*

Mine did not have checkpoints or metal detectors
We did have SRO officers
I was arrested by one of them when I was a senior

>What type of drug epidemic is it? What drug is being used?
Most popular is weed(if you can call that a drug but it's still bad for development) starting in middle schools while in high school they often find party drugs like LSD and ecstasy though weed is still the most popular by far.
Sometimes they search kids bags in elementary for their parents medicine they might have stolen but thats rare
t. dad did public security my nearby city's public schools

lol they confiscated by nerf gun after sandy hook in elementary and told me that they would've put the school on lockdown if that particular teacher hadn't been the first to find it
not joking

isn't that just a euphemism for a cop assigned to a school?

>obese african american lady is the one who checks backpacks
could it be any more stereotypical than this?

My school had several officers but nothing like metal detectors and searches. White kids were the minority at that school so a lot of fights and drug dealing was expected. I knew more than ten drug dealers personally when I went there. Before I went to that school, I attended a different one way out in the country where things were nice and calm so there was just a single officer instead of several.
The most common drug at my school was weed (obviously) but what the state is really concerned about is opiates. It's not really as bad as the media makes it look but it's still much worse than it used to be now that doctors over prescribe opiate medication and turn people into addicts. Opiate abuse at my school was extremely uncommon, even coke was more popular but in some areas it's pretty bad.

SROs are fucking useless they more or less are just there to pick on the poor kids whose parents have arrest records

yes

Holy shit what kind of 3rd world shithole is this. Thank god I'm 45 and never had to grow up in today's America.

They work for the school district, not the police department. There are exceptions in rural areas where a sheriff's deputy is likely stationed.

I'm in the Midwest and my school was very white and in a safe area but we had a cop there

same shit dude, they have all the powers of a police officer, the only difference is one is hired by the police department and the other the school.

it's like putting lipstick on a pig.

Jesus wtf. How white was your school lmao
Either way the checks did nothing as kids got stabbed/shot outside of school in the park

>after sandy hook in elementary
There is literally no way you aren't underage

sandy hook never happened
you're a crisis actor

we never had to go through metal detectors or anything like that and never had any violence in my school other than fights and such,
but after the first 15 minutes after school started, they would lock the doors and you had to enter through an air lock type of deal at the front of the school and show some guy your ID to get in.

It seems in most of the world weed is the first drug kids try during their teens
Then they might think "if this is prohibited and its not so harmful, i wonder what other illegal stuff is like"
Honestly think weed should be legal but making it some small edible pill thats like 99% bad flavor and 1% weed
If it was normalized kids wouldnt find it so attractive anymore

One of my teachers told me they're paid more than city cops. Apparently sitting on their ass all day and occasionally harassing some kid in the hallway is worth more than city cop work. That or the school district is just terrible at money management, probably the latter.

today's America is only the way it is because of people your age and older

We had 1 black kid in the whole school and 1 Brazilian

isn't middle school considered a part of elementary?
my school was k-12 and i was about 14

portugal legalized all drug use and teen usage of all drugs went down over a 5 year period

They can do whatever I want, not my problem. I did smoke weed starting in ninth grade but I quit after high school and moved on to LSD which despite being a powerful psychedelic is actually safer in the long term as long as you take it no more than once a month. Alcohol is the real danger for kids.

not in my schools, but I live in a 95% white area so...yeah. We don't have bulletproof glass in our fast food places either.

Remember, diversity is strength though!!

>as long as you only take it once a month
Lmfao, So basically the same than ecstasy, cocaine, weed..

>taking cocaine once a month
Easier said than done. Doing weed once a month is easy for most people but some can't control themselves. As for ecstasy, that should be once every three months.

stereotypical of what, dumb fuck

fuck off zoomer

lyndon b johnson*

America was fucked long before boomers lmao
Freemasons and Jews own this country

Just microdose, i had half a gram of coke last me about 2 months since i only used a tiny bit mixed with weed each time, and shared it some weekends
I also knew of a kid that went bald on his 20s due to cocaine so im pretty aware of how bad overusing it could be

I didn't have either. Zero school shootings or stabbings.

>security in most schools consist of locked doors that you have to buzz in to enter but theyre easy to get around
Mine didnt even have that. Any dildo could walk in almost every door.

I never dealt with checkpoints but we did have a police officer that would visit the school often to motivate the students or to break up fights. He was actually a pretty cool guy.

>What drug is being used?

Be the change you want to see

America is an open air prison masquerading as a country

The most american thing that happened in my school was when a really tall latino burnt a garbage bin, or maybe the time one guy nearly died hanging himself while skipping class in a shed near school and they called in a chopper to get him

>America is only the way it is because of people your age and older
We weren't, smoking meth, popping oxy, shooting and stabbing our classmates like it was a sport. You zoomers are garbage.
t.38

>Easier said than done
It's really easy unless you have an addictive personality or are introduced to it with a 5 day coke party.

You’re not white.

this

Do these even work? If you really want to shoot up your school just break in through a window.

Only people who havent been to America say this

Yes, we spend huge sums of money on pointless security and mass incarceration instead of commie stuff like healthcare and education

My school was ghetto as fuck with a gang problem and even we didn't do this

I've been to America and I can confirm though
You have security checkpoints at fuckng Disneyland for fucks sake. With metal scanners, pat downs, bag-searches and all that shit. Yanks are crazy.
