I don't listen classical music.
I guess most of the big ones are actually Austrian so they don't count for your flag.
>He loved cats, nature and literature, cultivated roses (even developed an award-winning hybrid), and after losing them in a devastating freeze took up growing cacti.
Never married either, just gardened, wrote music and went to the church on Sundays. Pretty sure he was legitimately autistic.
Bach was from Thuringia.
Beethoven was from the Rhineland although he worked in Vienna.
Mozart was from Salzburg (which then wasn't part of Austria). He considered himself German.

Is it classical music if it's made in Japan?
I meant, shouldn't japanese classic music be different from european classic music?
While not a composer, Herbert von Karajan tyrannically ruled the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for near half a century. He overstayed his time however and in his last decade increasingly clashed with younger musicians in the orchestra who favored a less autocratic approach to conducting. Also he was a secret Nazi.
He was good tho

Absolutely nothing in 200 years between Purcell and Elgar (Handel was a German expat so doesn't count).

>shouldn't japanese classic music be different from european classic music?
I don't think so
I'm not sure if you're baiting, but here it is, the universal truth: Austria is German.
They're as German as Bavarians and Saxonians are, they just happen to not be a member of the Federal Republic of Germany. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and many other great composers are German and they knew it.
There's a difference between Japanese classical music (i.e. court music) and classical music composed by a Japanese.
Meaning of course music that uses traditional instruments, not Western ones like violins, pianos, etc.
Aw yeah, Bruck the Man. Never was there a greater pedophile in classical music.
Bruckner however was from Austria, the land of the child molesters.
Not necessarily, it's moreso defined by adherence to a lineage of certain organizational and formal principles.
Why, what did he do?
Britain was always a literary country, they never had a big classical music tradition.
Forgot to say his name: Antônio Carlos Gomes
Heitor Villa-Lobos
Bruckner had a taste for jaybee. He kept trying to pick up young girls when he was past the age of 50 and even 70. Never succeeded in getting anything though.
Poor guy. In another time he would have just traveled to the Philippines to get his fix.
