Which is easier for an English speaker? Which is more rewarding?
Disclaimer : yes I know I'm an inbred mutt and you're full, just give me a break I want to learn a new language as a side hobby and maybe visit someday, nothing more. I'm more drawn to the Dutch vibe & culture but Norway is said to be really easy and I'm a full time wagecuck so easiness has to be taken into account and all.

dutch is really very englishesque already it seems, so you will likely ease into it nicely, norweigan is quasi danish, much harder than dutch, still not too hard, our languages aren't super far apart, it is modernized, not like that weird 19th century caveman norse revitalization project that is icelandic

Learn Dutch, because of all the Norwegian dialects somebody who learned norwegian in the United States would have a hard time understanding somebody from outside the Oslo region

The allure for me, from these two countries, is the small town, comfy & narrow sett/cobblestone vibe. Bicycle commutes, small cafe's, all that. God, reading that back I sound like such a pansy, but it is what it is, that's what I like.

why not? spanish would actually look impressive, norwegian and dutch are irrelevant in the united states and most people in both the netherlands and norway understand and speak english
