but america, unlike most other countries, has a lot of rural areas, and a large rural population (America's population is roughly (1/3) of a billion, so even a fraction of that is still larger than many third world countries populations)
also america hides its rural population well since both or our coasts have dense populations, and its our heartland thats sparse and empty
most countries have populations that arnt distributed like that ( china's west is empty compared to its east, canada's north is empty, while its southernmost parts are its most populated, brazil's interior is unpopulated, russia gets more empty the further east you go, ectera)
