Yep.
There is also some cheese from South America, like Brasil or Argentina, but overwelming majority is now russian made.

Is russian made cheese good?

>He doesn't eat cheese from a spray can

How do you even eat cheese while you drive? You don't just grab a can with one hand and spray it in your mouth?

We have Finnish doppelgangers now. Fortunately they are pretty nice but not cheap.
Yeah. I would say the cheese quality improved overall but the gap between cheap cheeses and medium priced ones are tremendous.

Haha stupid russians missing out on glorious absolute vodka cheese from Sweden.

Is it illegal to bring foreign cheese to Russia?

Are there cheese smugglers that hide cheese in their car and drive it through inspections into russia?

Do border guards have dogs that sniff out the cheese so nobody can smuggle it in?

Well, not all of it. Especially varieties what not usually produced in Russia.
But quality really improved in later years.

There were some French cheeses that were illegal in Switzerland because they weren't pasteurised or something in the 90's and people used to smuggle it

I remember 10 years ago the only cheese I liked in Russia was Chechil.

You can't bring more 5 kgs afaik.
I don't think they hide it. I think they bribe someone to bring them here because there are tons of online.
Probably. They destroy cheese a lot

Chechil is armenian, not russian.
But there is more armenian in Russia than in Armenia, so we can assume that russian made chechil should be better.

Vacherin mont d'or. Special situation, it is made on both sides of a mountain on the Swiss/French border and it is a very special raw milk cheese. One batch had some listeria or something, someone died and as a result they shut down production in Switzerland for several months. The French didn't and kept producing on their side of the mountain and the Jurassiens would "import" for a few months.

>Chechil is armenian, not russian.
I know, still it was domestic made.

>Are there cheese smugglers that hide cheese in their car and drive it through inspections into russia?
This is a thing that actually happens, yes

This. You can bribe anyone and anything in Russia. My dad bribed an officer in a train to get a dozen cups

what the fuck I was going to make this exact comment
