Southeast Asians of Jow Forums

Southeast Asians of Jow Forums.

I plan on backpacking Southeast Asia this summer. Does anyone want to join me? Also what advice do you have?

Is there a way to take a boat from Malaysia to Indonesia?

What are the 10 things?

Avoid KL and Sumatra if you're wh*te/can't speak the local language.

hehehe...

Why?

I want to go to historic places like Palembang

Just come with deep pockets and use it all at mbs casino silly gwailo

They probably mug whitoid tourists

Is there anything happening on Borneo except Brunei?

WAIT sorry IM RETARDED. I thought Borneo was Sumatra. Yes, avoid Sumatra because it has rampant islamists. Borneo is really nice, and THATS the one with English as one of the two official languages.

youtu.be/pwaR6u8FD2A this is an ASMR bitch from Borneo

I thought only Western Sumatra was crazy

Let me guess, you're going there for the "architecture"

Your probably right but the Malaysian said to avoid it.

Chances of tourists getting mugged/scammed are high. Avoid non-tourists area in KL and walk in groups in Sumatra.

>not having heard of Kota Kinabalu

There's a reason why Medan is often referred to as the Gotham of indonesia.

Redpill me on KL, I had a tamil professor in college from there.

If you don't want to see Muslims then North Sumatra is still a good place to visit, especially around lake toba.

Can get lynched/stabbed/mugged if you're not careful in some parts of the city (anywhere far away from the tourist spots especially at night).

You'd fuck her stop lying.

Muttoid, just like you.

Never said I didn't, homoman.

?
Explain.

It was the capital of SriViajaya

The local upstanding malay muslim man.

Srivijaya empire was a long long time ago. If you want to see srivijaya you're not going to find it in palembang. Might as well go to a museum.

Bitch. I'd outta slap the shit out of you. Betawi mutt

Srivijaya had plenty of capitals during its existence. Palembang was more of a recent construction not unlike any other cities here with no hints of Srivijayan legacy except of some rocks with Sanskrit etched on them.

Wtf. Did the Muslims destroy it all? Damnit

>American
Have fun getting mugged

Bukittinggi is the only place worth visiting in West Sumatra desu. You can get a bus trip from Pekanbaru to get there, cause I would never recommend you to stay in shithole Padang where all the crazies live.

Nah, the empire was already in decline by the time the Muslims came. Later settlers didn't even know what the hell Srivijaya was if wasn't for European archeologist.

Muslims aren't to blame for everything, Cletus. By the times the Muslims arrived srivijaya was already on its way out. If anything it was probably Indians that put the nail in the coffin.

But Islam was spread by Indians

I was referring to the chola invasion.

avoid people that looks like your professor

It was the chinks, actually.

if you're referring to zheng he then malays were already muslim before that. if you're referring to wali songo, then it was matrilineal (they married local chink in java) and they themselves were not chink.

*maternal, not matrilineal

>Believes Zheng he converted Indonesia

OH No No No

Islands of Nusantara had long connections with Bengal. When they became Muslim Java followed suit

(Although it was a Hindu-Muslim fusion before independence)

not bengal, but tughlaq dynasty from delhi sultanate
