Do Jews know about 樋口 季一郎 Kiichiro Higuchi who was a Japanese lieutenant general in the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II?
He saved so many Jews during WW2.
At that time, Japan and Germany allied, but he tried to save many Jews at China where Japanese army expanded.
His act made Germany angry very much, so he was abused by Germany.
But he didn't change his wish.
So Japanese government at the time called him back to Japan and the prime minister 東条英機 Hideki Tojo met him.

Hideki Tojo heard his talk and he decided to save Jews.
Thereafter Kiichiro Higuchi went to Pacific Islands to rescue his fellow Japanese army, and he saved many Japanese.
But Japan continued to lost, he also came back to Japan.
After that he was positioned in Hokkaido, and he stayed there when war ended.
But unfortunately as Soviet invaded to Hokkaido, he couldn't stop fighting.
He and his subordinate soldiers fought hard and Hokkaido was not invaded.
But they decided to take him to Siberia because Soviet veit were angry against him who fought with them.

On that occasion, the people who save him were the Jews who were saved by him during WW2.
Those Jews appealed to the US government about him and the US government listened their stories.
And at last the US government decided not to extradite him to Soviet.

Kiichiro Higuchi lived to be 80 in Japan.

Man if I'm going to get a vehicle it's definitely going to be the one where I can have air conditioning, protection against the elements and relative safety even at high speeds.
All the fuel economy and traffic filtering in the world won't be worth it for me.

It's published by the broadcast university, it started as a radio show where they bring experts to talk about their field (both sciences and humanities) for an hour or so and still goes on to this day, it's nice because they're describe something at entry level so you can listen to it with no prior knowledge but at the same time don't skim on details and maintain an academic writing.
They also release books (and have for a while) in a similar format which are supposed to be good, but I haven't got around to reading them.
I doubt they're translated.
