Unironically I see this as clear evidence the french political establishment are truly traitors. France used to way out of its way to produce it's own weapons out of a sense of national pride and dignity. They couldn't stomach the idea of using another country's guns especially kraut guns. So they developed the FAMAS. The current leadership has no qualms because they are not patriotic Frenchmen. I know it has a different operating system but the overall layout of the rifle is similar enough that French troops wouldn't need to learn such a massively different manual of arms as they have to switching to an AR platform.
