I'm in college and got a new job cleaning restaurant vents, my job requires me to climb onto rooftops, some have their own ladders attached to the building and some require us climbing up on a company ladder, I get paid roughly $11 an hour, is this worth it for the danger or am i getting suckered?

also they didnt say anything about insurance, im sure they have some company policy though

No, fuck that, you could get permanently injured for life, not worth minimum wage. I had a shit job and the boss told me a new duty of mine was to get on the roof 3 times a week and make sure the drains weren't getting plugged. I told him I don't get paid enough to risk bodily harm and I would do it for a raise. He got fucking pissed, wrote me up then got all the managers together and they told me to get on the roof. I said no again and they sent me home. Next day I come in and they hired a drain service to come and check it bi weekly lol. Four managers and all of them were too pussy to get on the roof themselves. Never do something dangerous at a job unless you get paid well enough.

Agreed. I waited tables for a bit in college and made much more than $11/hr. Look around OP, you should at least be able to find something that’s safe and $13/hr.

$11 / hour to scrape carcinogens out of vents. oh I don't know, how many larps are in a flarp? college debt... $11/hour job... inability to look at glassdoor.com to figure out if you are getting fucked.

If your larp employer is a big multi-million dollar company, your best bet is to break the ladder and then use the broken ladder to fall off the roof seriously injuring yourself - maybe it will kill you - sounds like a win win situation from where you're sitting.

I fix toys for 12.77

should i call the guy an ask to get paid more or should i just say fuck it and quit on the spot? Its a small company, seems like just me and 2 other guys, the owner and possibly his close friend, i had a feeling i was getting suckered but i actually had fun doing the job

Depends on where you live OP. If youre in Cali you should be getting paid more than 11 for that. For what it's worth climbing up and down ladders shouldnt be THAT dangerous.
