Have a hafu friend who was born and raised here

>have a hafu friend who was born and raised here
>went to live in Japan around 3-4 years ago (his family is from there)
>media keeps telling me that Japan is a utopian society, disciplined, etc
>went to Japan to see him (among other things)
>tells me life is depressing there and boring and Flipland despite all its flaws as a more fun, happy and relaxing place
>get the same story from a friend of mine who has a Japanese surname who went there to work in a factory
I don't get it, who should I believe? The media or my friends? Is Japan really boring and unfun?

It's known our working culture is both disciplined and terrible.

Its pretty gloomy in Japan, unlike Korea or Flipland

Do you love Korea?

friend

>i suffer in japan

japans nice to visit, pretty shit to actually work and live though. i think that's the general consensus.

only people with good jobs or much money are happy in japan

I have a little research on this.

This is called "Japan Syndrome"desu!

Attached: 004.jpg (1280x720, 105K)

What constitutes much money in Japan?

but you are Filipino(゜゜)

My friend doesn't look like a Flip, and they both have Japanese surnames

Why?

>My friend doesn't look like a Flip

so?

hahaha
this

Uhh, maybe I don't understand your point. What are you trying to say?

see

Yes.
The ones who remain have no feelings of empathy. The ones who actually have feelings and yearn for love and honest communication, become clinically depressed and end up jumping off a building or tossing themselves into the shinkansen rails.

Dumb Chika poster.
Also is Japan Syndrome really real? Like PAris Syndrome?

>media keeps telling me that Japan is a utopian society, disciplined, etc

really my media keep telling me Japan is a dying shithole that needs to import hordes of niggers

Japan sounds like a great place to visit but a terrible place to live and work in

japan is a country for gaijin tourist

Went there, really beautiful.
I heard 100,000 filipinos are going to go to Japan to work, I hope they enjoy the beauty and stay happy.

Tell me about nikkin kyoiku

I can't imagine being happy under salaryman culture
I heard they treat their bosses like masters over there and are subservient even outside work hours

>Also is Japan Syndrome really real?
Some people might be.
Infact I doubt that some user might have Japan Syndrome.
They receive the information from anime, manga, movie,Jow Forums and that make them have some weird stereotype in Japan.
It just like Paris Syndrome(Japan Ver.)

>Trusting 3rd world media sources

Seriously, Philipanon, your better than this

I won't really know how Japan is like until I actually live there for a while.
I heard salarymen actually drink a lot.

Well you have a point dumb chikaposter. Just like moot, they moved to Japan because it's sugoi or something, they are blinded.

But isn't a friend who lives in Japan a good source?

I dont know
Its depends people might be
50% of my acquaintances whining all day about how boring and depressing JPN is like this
And 50% blend in pretty well.
As someone in the 50% latter, I dont see any problem. I like being in JPN a lot people always smile with me, give me lots of things on streets (food and sweets, 500 yen bus ticket, etc)
How can I have negative opinions about Japan when it treats me much better than the place where I was born (I had very little friend and peoole think that I am some kind of autist in my country)

Will come back pretty soon, I want to pay back becauese Japanese peope have treat me very well.

Well, I agree with your point, but we really won't know until we actually live there.
My sister gets those too because she looks asian. And my friends also look Japanese, though sure you can argue that they're just Filipinos bottomline. But them saying it's depressing compared to here must have weight, because only they can compare between the two countries.

I also know a Japanese man who has a family in Japan, but for some reason wants to live here instead, but that's a long story and I want to keep my post short.

I live in Osaka and Kyoto for half of a year.
And most of time its very pleasant there is nothing depressing at all for me
That was the most memorable moments in my life.

Then I'm happy for you Vietanon.
Sadly people don't have the same experience, I hope they eventually become happy.

you just hate japan…

But I love Japan.
I'm just saying it how it is, Japan is a beautiful place but depressing to many people.

>anyone who talks something remotely bad about japan hates japan

?
okok

Your schoolgirls are cute. Tried to ask directions once and I ended up asking them (but they do not know english). Not a pedo though.

>Flipland despite all its flaws as a more fun, happy and relaxing place
You're honestly one of the happiest group of people I've met so I'm not really suprised.

I don't think Japan is like anime, if fact that's why I'm telling you something like how depressing it is there

Probably. What pisses me off is how genuine it is.
When I was in America and Japan, sometimes their smiles feel like it isn't genuine. I'm not trying to insult people, that's just how I feel. I dunno why filipino happiness feels genuine to me.
Sometimes people are too h

5k a month

>Tfw I can understand written Japanese but dont know how to talk back.

Other than anime lover, many poor people/workers in countries such as mine always thought foreign countries are heaven (because foreign ourist spent lots of money, and their country is rich)
With that mindset they disillusioned when facing real hardship of a country that has much greater standard.
Not just JPN, they will likely to suffers in any foreign country they live in.

true but philipines is a hellhole ruled by literal medieval warlords. japan isnt gloomy or depressing, its just that people are socialized to be conformists and constantly force themselves to do things they don't want to do, this makes life a lot more miserable than it should be.

No, I said, if you were to chose information from real people or information from 3rd world "news", I would choose real people. I answered your original question :D

>true but philipines is a hellhole
Well, it is, that's why them saying that to me baffles me.

>its just that people are socialized to be conformists and constantly force themselves to do things they don't want to do, this makes life a lot more miserable than it should be.
Well, that would make sense. Rules here are pretty lax and people conform less to rules and society in general. Probably causes a lot of problems too.

People here are hardworking, some people wake up at around 4-5am or something to work and survive this hellhole. But we don't take things too seriously, I really can't explain it, kinda like quantity over quality

Thanks Turkanon friend.

I think it's more of a cultural disconnect more than anything. Japan may be depressing but maybe there's a reason for it.

What are you saying, are you calling us flips idiot?
Rude. How about you say it to my face?

Is it bad to move to japan if I'd be working in American company?

Living here it's great: it's clean, safe, I have a lot of fun because I go to concerts very often (last month I went to see Crystal Lake and The Winking Owl), and it's full of places to space out and relax.
Maybe he's too japanese, doesn't know how to say no and live through the eyes of others.

Don't fight them, fellow filipino friend.

Are you a white man?

Yes, I'm white.

japs can smell sea dogs from miles away so stay away.

Nice.
>Maybe he's too japanese, doesn't know how to say no and live through the eyes of others.
Maybe.
As long as you don't wallow yourself at work or something it could be nice.

Wel,, that's too bad.
I heard they're gonna accept like a ton of SEA workers there soon.

>What are you saying, are you calling us flips idiot?

no

We shouldn't fight, we should all be friends. Just tell him what you are talking about friend. Maybe he's just an emotional man.

I used to talk with some japanese dude online for many years. He kept telling me how miserable for young people life in japan was. I used to tease him with the ''lol you suffer in the first world what a joke''. But after I met him irl I truly saw how shit his life was even compared to my absolute shit life. I hope he didn't off himself (((

My japanese is no good but in general,
He admit that it is true there is culture different in each country.
And people who dillusioned by real life vs anime are stupid.
Filipino have different life style in Philipine might feel pressure in Japan
If someone feels like they can blend in, then it might be the person characteristics/personality happen to suits Japan lifestyle more

I always avoid to speak in my language to another person from my country in front of people with different language is because of this, they might think I badmouthed them

Puerto Rico is a 1st world country.

Oh, okay.

>1st world
>country
We are none of those actually!

Are those ducks?
