Heisann! Jeg må beklager for at min norsk er fortsatt ikke så bra, og jeg må skynder meg, så skal jeg sporre noe på englesk i stedet:

I have just signed a contract for a new job, and must give notice at my current job. The notice period works in a way that my last day is the final day in the next month after I give notice. So if I give notice today, my last day will be the 31st of June. The only problem with this is that the new job would really like me to start working in June, and that would be difficult while still working at my current job.

Can I put in notice today, then take vacation time for all of June at my first job, and still work at the second job with no problems?

I should add that I know my coworker did exactly this just last month, but I'm not sure if he will run into any problems down the line

is Norwegian very hard to learn?
I'd like to learn it but it seems daunting...

I'm sorry OP I have no idea

Norwegian is a brainlet language, shouldn't be hard, especially if you already knows english.

I'm almost certain that giving notice in this way would still be within the terms of the contract, I see no reason for it to be a breach of terms. And I'm not too concerned with a lawsuit considering they would have much more to lose if I reported them for breaking labor laws.

I was more concerned with running into an issue with the tax office.

really???
I had the idea it was the hardest of the Germanic languages

Probably the easiest of them all. Swedish is slightly harder. Danish would be just as easy if it wasn't so incredibly difficult to pronounce.

It's not so hard as far as learning a language goes if you can speak English and/or German. The hardest part is understanding the dialects (ahem, Trondersk) but that just comes with time and exposure.

Oh no not at all. If the income is about the same, you won't have to do a thing. Assuming they have it all digitized as we do.

nice
maybe I should put in the effort

Do it! It's a beautiful language.

Maybe, keep in mind our language is really shit though since it's just danish after getting cucked for 400 years

Duolingo can be a good resource if you use it on a computer and take notes from the lessons.

NTNU has an online norskkurs as well called NoW (Norwegian on the web). Just search for NTNU NoW and it should pop up.

Well I think I'll put in notice and take June vacation then. I'm not sure I can stand to work at this company for 2 more months anyway. I just hope they pay me my vacation money...

It's against the any union agreements working while having vacation. The company won't risk it.
What you can do, is to take your vacation doing all the weekends for the next few months. I've done that

If my current job and my new job both do not belong to a union, this wouldn't be an issue, would it?

For me it is Bokmål

>it's just danish after getting cucked for 400 years
well learning a language requires a bit of determination I think, and since I don't really care about Legoland or Ikealand that much I think Norwegian is more worth it
thanks anons, will definitely look into those resources

I'm pretty yes it is
Don't do it

Shut the fuck up, retard. He can learn nynorsk if he wants to.

lol if anything, I was implying nynorsk is the way to go since bokmål is just our cuck slave language. Fuck off cunt.

I want to learn Norwegian and attend a free Norwegian university

You better get citizenship of an EU country, it's much more difficult to get here with US citizenship. I'm from the USA and had to get myself Lithuanian citizenship in order to move here because there were just too many unrealistic hoops to jump through as a US citizen. Look at UDI.no for some more info if you're serious about it.

damn no kidding

It might be worth it to look into citizenship laws in the countries where your parents/grandparents/great grandparents came from, if they moved to the USA from another country. For me, citizenship of Lithuania was surprisingly easy to get since my grandma was born there and fled Russian occupation after WWII. I speak no Lithuanian, and have never even been there. I was able to do everything from the USA, although it took a couple years from start to finish.

It's worth looking into.

Why can't you leave us alone, as if the ahmeds and mateuszes arent enough

:(

I didn't feel like I had any say in what goes on in the USA, and I don't like the direction it's been heading. Nothing is being fixed, and it's only getting worse for the citizens there. You guys have your shit figured out, and the government gives a shit about its people more than it gives a shit about lining their pockets with corporate bribery, serving the morally bankrupt modern-day capitalist corparate ecosystem that exists today in the USA at the expense of the well-being of the citizens.

Plus your dairy is leagues beyond what we have in the USA. Top notch butter

You can't have the best country and not expect people to come

Hell seger. Hell SEGER!!!!

you can tell them straight forward that you have a new job where you want to start in june and if they want you to stay in work out your period it will be against your will with the negative impact that gives on you performance. also since you are going straight to another job you can give them the option of not paying you for that month. legally they can force you to work but they are also obligated to pay you. if both parts agree on it you can set thoose laws aside but if they get mad and ask you to pack up and leave today they still have to pay you through the 3month period if you dont agree with that. same if you tell them to fuck off and just leave, they can charge you with the extra cost for hiring a replacement. some just make it simple and pay you for the next 3 months, shake your hand and wish you good luck in life, they know that people working out their period who has another job waiting will never give their best and its just a hazzle for both parts forcing them to stay there for another 3 months.

no one speaks nynorsk except sheepshaggers and fjordfucks. seriously, never learn that shit and maybe the meme language dies out one day.

>No one speaks nynorsk
Retard

That is swedish, not norwegian

Yes of course I plan on talking to them about all of this.

Does this all apply if my position is paid hourly?

And the three-month period is only one month in my contract as far as I know. I believe my contract states that the notice period becomes 3 months after 1 year of employment, and 6 months after 5 years.

Also, I'm still going on vacation in June for 2 weeks anyway which they are aware of, but I haven't given them the dates. I'd love to give notice on Monday, which should make my last day June 31, then give them the exact dates for my vacation as June 1-31, then work at the other job in June after my vacation. I'm just wondering if working at the new job while I'm supposed to be on vacation would be problematic

you have to man up and bring this question to your boss / manager instead of asking Jow Forums

I plan on it, I'm just curious what my options are. I don't think my boss would want me to know that my potential plan is even an option, and I wouldn't trust him to tell me the truth if it were.

Perhaps I should speak with Fellesforbundet? They have an office nearby

who do i believe?

He's right that it's underused, 10-15%. Thing is, saying that anyone "speak nynorsk" made me believe this guy was either retarded or a zoomer since then he clearly missed the point of nynorsk in school. Most likely, he's O*lo swine aka north Dane. They are isolated within their brown shithole.

Celtic bvlls use nynorsk
