ONE CUNT ONE LANGUAGE /SKANDI/

i'm planning on emigrating to finland to get le job, is learning finnish even worth the effort?

would it be more efficient to think in a simpler or a more complex language? What about thinking in latin compared to german? It can express the same things using less words.

No one ever bothered to made one, which makes sense, I rarely see anyone learning Thai in these threads

What's it like for native Greek speakers to read the bible in its original Greek? Is it still understandable or are there more recent versions of the Greek bible to make it easier to understand?

Attached: riddler.jpg (1518x980, 189K)

The same as when Italians read Vulgata I guess

But that's in Latin, not in Italian.

I stopped learning Japanese after a year. I was totally uninterested in it. I like Japanese culture but probably not more than Chinese or Singaporean culture, probably even less when you subtract anime actually

It doesn't have to be called Italian for me to compare it to Greek almost 2000 years ago? You Think Greeks have it easy reading Ancient Greek just because it's called Ancient Greek?

A Greek dude today reading Ancient Greek is in as much trouble as an Italian reading Latin, or at least I *think *so. That's what I wanted to say at any rate. I could be wrong. But a Greek classmate of mine said it's not easy at all.

Lmao i've been studying german for like 6 years and still don't know how to use them, thank God i'll never have to speak that languagee. For some reason i still get good grades

queueing some farts lads

That's kind of the reason why I asked since I heard they have an easier time

Ask me anything about Old Norse boys

Attached: 6.jpg (888x700, 214K)

Perhaps they do, Modern Greek did evolve from Koine so you're probably right. I was just making a comparison based on what my classmate told me.

But I am pretty sure Homeric is not at all understandable on the other hand.

I've heard Mycenian Greek is closer to Sanskrit than to modern Greek

Is it based being able to read the old sagas in the original and will I be able to learn it easily after I’ve learned to read Swedish

I enjoy it

>Je suis arrivé le cinquième à la marathon
It's "au marathon", but honestly if you're not french most people won't care, a word's "gender" is really random so there's no way to know if you haven't seen that word before

>Vont nous le faire vraiment
It's "allons nous le faire vraiment"

>Une bouchée de serpent
It's "une morsure de serpent".
I really can't think of a context where bouchée would be used to mean bite, but if you want to describe a bite by a human or an animal you have to use "morsure"

>Mon affectation
If you're talking about a school assignment, the word to use is "devoir"

>>Je suis allé à Cuba pour sept journées avec ma famille
No mistakes here, but most people would say "pour sept jours"

>Les enfants sont en train de jouer avec la balle dans le parc
Also no mistakes here, but "jouer avec la balle" is just something that people don't really say, you could say instead "jouer au ballon"

I'm sorry i'm bad at explaining,

Not him but can you explain the difference between the vowel sounds “in” and “en”

The difference is admittedly pretty small, I can try to explain how to produce it:
"in" (as in "indien" for example) seems to come for the velar area of the mouth. The tongue is slight brought back into the mouth but doesn't touch the palate, mouth slightly open.
"en" (as in "enquête" for example) seems to come from the throat (this is just my impression as I'm saying it out loud, I'm not a phonetician by any mean). Mouth a bit more open that for "in", and tongue rolled further back.

I've been studying italian for a few months but I find it's very hard to get past the intermediate stage. I also don't have any Italian friends to speak with in the language, which is difficult :(

>Per colazione sto mangiando (mangio?) l'uova
>Ero il quinto nel marathon
>Vive ancora con tuoi genitori? (Not sure whether or not the article is necessary before 'genitori')
>Mia ragazza è una vegetariana (same story as above)

>I bambini stanno giocando con la palla nel parco
>Domenica sera mi piace guardare il calcio americano con miei amici
>Sono andato in Cuba per sette giorni con mia famiglia
>Davvero facciamo questo?

>La mia stampante è esausta appena prima della data del mio incarico
>In ospedale ho visto qualcuno chi era malato per un morso di serpente

What do you call this? I thought it was Кәмшaт but that's just the name of some pop singer

>I'm sorry i'm bad at explaining,
Don't worry pal, i gotcha
>Per colazione sto mangiando (mangio?) l'uova
"Per colazione sto mangiando" sounds weird
You should say "sto mangiando" if you're eating this exact moment, but then it would be unnecessary to specify it's breakfast
Also, the determinative article sounds weird in this context
"Per colazione mangio delle uova" i'd say is a better translation
>Ero il quinto nel marathon
"Sono arrivato quinto alla maratona"
>Vive
Vivi
>(Not sure whether or not the article is necessary before 'genitori')
I think i told you in a previous correction that with relatives you can omit the article in presence of a possessive, perhaps i should have mentioned that doesn't count with plurals, so you can say "mio fratello", "mio nonno", but still "i miei fratelli" "i miei nonni" etc.
And of course, being that genitori is always plural, it needs an article
>Mia ragazza
"La mia ragazza", that also needs an article, i guess a girlfriend doesn't really count as family until you get married
>è una vegetariana
Just "è vegetariana"
>Domenica sera
If you want to imply that it happens every sunday night "La domenica sera" is better
>in Cuba
"a Cuba"
>con mia famiglia
"con la mia famiglia"
>Davvero facciamo questo?
"Lo facciamo davvero?" sounds better
>La mia stampante è esausta
We don't really say that
"La mia stampante ha finito l'inchiostro"
>chi era malato
"che era malato"

Thats pretty cringe it accusative and dative isnt hard to understand but it is hard to speak using them

Das ist ein Fischotter
>perhaps i should have mentioned that doesn't count with plurals, so you can say "mio fratello", "mio nonno", but still "i miei fratelli" "i miei nonni" etc.
OK, so I'm guessing that I should consider "la mia famiglia" also as de facto 'plural'

If it helps you remember it, think about it this way
But of course keep in mind that "la famiglia" is grammatically singular

the only language you can REALLY think in is romanian

What word in russian can I use to say "specifically" as in "specifically this"
