Suppose that you were forced to eat only one kind of food until death,
For me,
British food ... impossible German food ... possible French food ... idk Italian food ... barely possible Nordic food ... barely possible Russian food ... willingly American food ... willingly McDonald's ... barely possible Indian food ... impossible Japanese food ... suicide Chinese food ... barely possible Korean food ... suicide
eat the borsch and mcdonalds banana deluxe combo you sluuut
Hunter Miller
>British food ... impossible >German food ... possible They're very similar
Gavin Watson
Today while I was having struggling to decide what to have for breakfast I had the thought that I was pretty advanced for my time, I don't enjoy food anymore and I bet that in the future we will have just basic shakes with all the nutrients, that would be perfect, I already use the same outfit everyday, I can't wait to be a cyborg.
for me it's Mexican food. I would probably day at the age of 35 from obesity, diabeetus, heart attack and cancer all at the same time but it would be best 10 years of my life
William Foster
hello japan, why does anime pretend like natto is good and not disgusting?
Jason Edwards
>Italian barely possible >Chinese barely possible >French idk
Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, sausages and many imports from east Europe including goulash. It's decent and guarantees a sustainable diet.
I think it depicts a kind of weirdness or toughness of a character.
I don't prefer overly decorated food anyway.
Same. The chain offers me a really good and hardly boring menus.
For me it's mainly fried meat(pirozhok, kotleta) and stew. They also consume various kinds of normal mushrooms unlike east asian perverted insane "mushrooms".
Brody Clark
>Italian >overly decorated Literally the most minimalistic cuisine of Europe
Josiah Evans
You dont know any nordic food, you've probably just seen surströmming and smalahove thinking that's what all nordic food is like
I would go with: Italian food- willingly Indian food- willingly I'm vegetarian so I don't know if there are other good options available without meat.
Isaac Thomas
I'd do beans, lentils or chickpeas.
Hunter Price
...
Jonathan Evans
I could eat South Indian food my entire life. But I'm Punjabi and I love Dosa.
Gavin Campbell
>imagine being this pleb
Jason Adams
Nobody should even need to defend Indian cuisine. This chump likes amer*can food - his taste is in his arsehole.
Caleb Hall
Malaysian food >mfw chinese, indian and nyonya food are still malaysian :^)
Oliver Reyes
British food is the most manliest food, if you don't like it you're gay how can you not like meat pies, English breakfast, Sunday roast, pasties etc
Landon Reed
>British food Yeah it's mostly processed and/or fried low quality crap. Shepherd's/Cottage pie was the worst meal of my childhood and my parents are both anglo. >German food Better than British cuisine because of pickled vegetables and spaetlze but it's still overly meat heavy. >French food Manages to be even more overrated than shower sex. If there isn't a dead animal as the centrepiece of the dish then they're completely lost. >Italian food ... barely possible It's quite simple in terms of the taste profile, but it's quite OK and certainly better than the garbage the French come up with. >Nordic food ... barely possible Not great, but gravadlax is a 10/10 dish >Russian food ... willingly Holodec is worse than child sexual exploitation and the nation of pakistan combined. But their liberal use of God's herb (dill), pickled vegetables and salo has to command some level of respect >American food With no exceptions, the worst. Period. >McDonald's ... barely possible As above >Indian food ... impossible 5th best cuisine in the world >Japanese food ... suicide Very good, not top 5, but very good. >Chinese food ... barely possible Death by salt and oil, it can fuck right off. But their liberal use of various types of leafy green vegetables is pleasing to me. >Korean food ... suicide Very underrated cuisine. It's mostly excellent, but does have certain disgusting things - perilla leaves, for example.
Christian Myers
For me: British food ... fish & chip German food ... hasenpfeffer French food ... bouef borguignon Italian food ... pizza Nordic food ... i don't know any Russian food ... shashlik American food ... bourbon shrimp McDonald's ... McNuggets Indian food ... i don't know any Japanese food ... i don't know any Chinese food ... i don't know any Korean food ... i don't know any
Kayden Cooper
It would be finnish of our food could be called cuisine
Oliver Miller
What kind of food do you like?
Jeremiah Flores
No they would love japanese food because they all are weebs
Grayson Walker
Too fancy
Owen Johnson
do you not like british roast dinner?
Cameron Phillips
>British food ... impossible >German food ... possible >Nordic food ... barely possible But theyre almost the same thing
british food sucks but its the best in northern europe by a long shot
Liam Sanchez
Top 5 ?
1. Turkish 2. Lebanese / Damascene 3. Gayreek 4. Vietnamese 5. Indian (moreso South Indian)
Anyone who hasn't experienced a raki table with good company and cigarettes on a mild summer's day by the water hasn't experienced one of the best things in life.
Noah Reed
Lol how are perilla leaves gross? My childhood was eating them with gochujang and rice
Ethan Morales
good list moldovanigger, I am a greek but think indian should be #3 with greek 4 and viet 5
Sebastian Torres
I wouldn't say this to me mum but no, not really. Though I really enjoy nut roasts even though I'm not vegetarian/vegan.
Also my parents are kiwi so our roasts never incorporated yorkshire puddings but almost always pumpkin (which I don't see that often here in the UK). I don't mind yorkshire puddings but they do seem like pointless calories unless you use them as a flavourless vehicle for gravy (but then it's better just to add more potatoes).
Levi Perez
I would like to taste raki.
Brandon Jones
I don't know, I just remember they tasted vile but I've no qualms with kale, spinach, chard, choi sum, pak choi etc...
Daniel Sullivan
It's not too different from ouzo - have you tasted that ?
Jaxon Ramirez
>Vietnamese Good choice, very few things beat the combo of Pho, Banh Mi, Boba and Vietnamese coffee. American Black people also make some pretty disgusting but delicious food but it would most definitely eventually kill you youtu.be/z_5Pz1Id_MU
I expected a reply from a fin or a latvian but it seems to me that there was a great shuffle in butthurt belt rankings. We have russian cheese which is basically Finnish one but produced here
Ethan Mitchell
Oh come on m8
>fish and chips Yeah if it's done well it tastes pretty good at first, but this is basically pervert food like halloumi fries or the god awful mac and cheese. It's way too fatty, even if you order it at a decent gastropub and you feel like you're nursing a food baby for hours afterwards.
>cottage pie A genuine 0/10 dish. Mashed potato that has none of the benefits of decent mash (soft/creamy), flavours to satisfy a five year old and the most pleb tier of meat - mince meat, which can be great if you mix it with 'erbs and spices but in cottage pie there's none of that.
>roast dinners Just a vehicle for gravy, lets be fair. There is nothing noteworthy about boiling or roasting vegetables and it all seems a bit ....disjointed.
>coronation chicken Literally cancer on a plate. Who the fuck thought that was a pleasant sauce must have been severely fucked in the head.
>bangers and mash It can be decent actually, but it's still childrens food, let's be realistic here.
>savoury pies Probably one of the best things. But NZ does them better than the UK, I'm sorry.
>chips No country does these as tasty as the UK.
Eli Bailey
>will eat American food >wouldn't eat Italian, English, French food or Japanese food make up your mind
Tyler Allen
For me, only 3 foods are diverse and healthy enough to be eaten until death: French, italian, japanese.
When I see people saying French food is overrated or "disgusting", I really wonder where the fuck you ate and what you ate.
Xavier Scott
Name 5 dishes that define french cuisine
Luis Sanchez
>fish and chips Its takeaway, obviously its not healthy >cottage pie eat a different fucking kind of pie then obviously >roast dinners these are amazing and if you dont like them you have no taste or youre eating some shitty microwaved one from wetherspoons or something >coronation chicken i barely even know what this is >bangers and mash yes it is kids food, why are you eating it >savoury pies no way does nz do these better
Julian Campbell
Baguette Omelette du fromage Ratatouille Escargo Foie gras
Lucas Miller
Well, you can start with some escargots, then have honey magret de canard with vegetables and potatoes, get some cheese, and finish with a crême brulée. For drinks, a good red Burgundy wine.
Jonathan Barnes
>these are amazing Come on m8, they're a 5/10 dish when done as good as they can be. The only people who rave about them have a very narrow taste palette. Because let's face it, while simple food can oftentimes be better than overly complicated/poncy shit this is really far too basic and pleb to be considered amongst the great dishes of this world.
>no way does nz do these better There's better variety here but for the basic bog standard meat pie, NZ does it better in terms of pastry and filling.
Luis Smith
No, roasts are actually amazing if done normally and not whatever you're eating. Roast lamb is genuinely one of the best dishes you could possibly eat.
>There's better variety here but for the basic bog standard meat pie, NZ does it better in terms of pastry and filling. I very much doubt that
Jason Flores
Name one haute cuisine restaurant in the western world that doesn't run its kitchen in the French style, doesn't use some of the French mother sauces, or cook much of its food using French methods.
When we talk about the preeminence of French cuisine we aren't talking about specific dishes (though they do have many great classic dishes) we are talking about how the French redefined the ways we eat and cook and how we think about foods. Japan and France have contributed more towards this than any other countries. Russia does have one big claim to fame in the culinary world though, every restaurant is service à la russe as opposed to service à la française but even Russia's greatest chefs, like Vladmir Mukhin are cooking and presenting traditional Russian cuisine in the French styles.
Isaiah White
m8 unless you're a pleb how can you honestly say that a roast is a more enjoyable meal to say a pho, beef rendang, chicken fesenjan, gormeh sabzi, dal (any kinds) ? Any if it's because you enjoy a variety of different elements in one dish then how can you say this is better than like a mixed meze of falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, cheese, olives, kisir, vine leaves, etc. ?
I mean, honest to betsy
Like really
Michael Gonzalez
>Japan and France have contributed more towards this than any other countries. >t. kraft dinner pro
Ayden Gonzalez
Restaurants don't definite cuisine. You have very deformed point of view for some reason. People define it. What an average Frenchman cooks for his children is a much better definition of french cuisine than a three star Michelin restaurant
Jordan Powell
It's not a debate, and I was clear on the fact that I'm talking about western cuisine. I get that you like Asian or MENA food and that's great but it doesn't change the impact that France has had on western haute cuisine starting with guys like Auguste Escoffier and continuing on through the nouvelle cuisine movement that still defines modern dining in Europe and the New Worlds, much of which they pulled from the Japanese, westernised, and then spread throughout these countries.
Nolan Johnson
>British food I would rather not. Not to different from German food but inferior seasoning and variety imo
>German food I'm used to it, so sure
>French food Great cuisine and food culture
>Italian food Definitely yes
>Nordic food Not a big fan but also not very familiar with it
>Russian food Not sure. Possibly
>American food It's mostly influenced by European European cuisine but with a loss of depth in taste. Possibly.
>McDonald's I would rather die
>Indian food Depends on the region. The variety is so great, that I can't tell.
>Japanese food Yes
>Chinese food Same as India
>Korean food Yes
Justin Lopez
You are just being silly now, of course restaurants define cuisine. Culinary movements and trends start in restaurants and then spread to the home. In the mid 20th century a 3-starred French restaurant starting offering sous-vide steak, 50 years later and every home cook I know has a sous-vide machine that you can buy at Walmart. Virtually every popular dish and cooking method started this way. Even when we do have simple, homestyle foods, it's usually chefs in restaurants that are perfecting them and introducing them to the world at large.
Ethan Hernandez
Are you trolling or living in a bubble made you completely inadequate? Who the fuck owns a sous-vide machine? I bet not even one percent of the canadian population does it
Jayden Martin
I'd just eat rice and beans, whatever.
Jack Howard
I just checked, Walmart, Canadian Tire, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and Home Hardware, all sell home sous vide machines and accessories here, ranging from Walmart's $27 manual sous-vide kit to Home Hardware's $600 full sous-vide pressure cooker and everything in between. These are low to middle class stores, they are all selling these (at different brands and price points) because people are buying them. That's missing the point though, sous-vide was just an example. I can buy 15+ difderent Caesar salad kits at any grocer, it's on the menu at any normal restaurant, it got its start 100 years ago in an Italian owned restaurant group in America and Mexico. Everything is like this
Good list although I feel like Indian food is better than Vietnamese simply because there's way too much variety
Connor Young
First of all, it doesn't mean that people buy them and more importantly use them as professional chefs do. And again you are talking about restaurants and how an old receipt is still available in modern eateries. I never denied that. But as I said cuisine is a historical thing like fashion. It's just evolve from something to something. We can't say that some designer defined everything we know about fashion today. And like there were fashion designer that made a huge impact on our life (like Boss and his nazi uniforms) there were chefs who made some impact on cuisine by creating a dish (Caesar, or Olivier salad for Russia). But it's a small additions to well established cuisines
Luis Jones
>Schnitzel it's italian
Henry Evans
*milanese Don't even try to rob our culture, terrone
Michael Nelson
>brit ehh, I’d rather not >german as kings as bavarian food is included sure, no raw pork though >french sure >Italian a best :^) >nordic uhhhh it’s like potatoes and fish, I’d rather avoid it >Russian not really >American kms >McD kms but unironically >indian huh sure, I don’t really know it but it’s quite tasty >jap yes >chink yeah but no dog or insects >korean yes it’s bretty good
