What are some traditional American dishes? Are there any?
I'm legit not trying to be funny or cheeky. Say you have a big family gathering on a Sunday, what do you cook? Or for big holidays?

Unironically, burgers lmao. Like if you're grilling at for big gathering, you're generally out in the backyard cooking up burgers, hotdogs, or bratwurst, at least where I live (Texas).
The further you go towards the swampier areas in the southern states, such as Lousiana, Mississippi, etc. you start getting into more fish based dishes, such as crawfish boils and fish fries, which are essentially what they sound like: A bunch of people get together and dump a ton of crawfish, seasoning, potatos, corn, etc.into a large pot filled with water being heated by a propane burner. For fish fries substitute the water for vegetable oil and the crawfish for catfish or crappie.
In the cities here in Texas, we do that sometimes, but we mainly just grill/barbecues.
Damn I fucked up the grammar in that post royally, think I need another cup of coffee lads.
I know about american bbqs and cajun food etc, but I'm thinking like, what a middle-class american family eats during winter time in say, the midwest
Potato salad, sweet potatoes, baked beans, cornbread, pork roast, turkey, various pies, and casseroles.
everything is adaptations from euro cuisine or wherever else the family originates. there's nothing special or unique about American cuisine aside from portion sizes.
Oh, in that case probably something like a roast, with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and some vegetable/salad for sides. This is excluding holidays of course.
midwest fag detected
Bbq, ham, steak, ribs, blt, philly cheesesteak, meatloaf, buffalo wings, pot roast, fried chicken, turkey etc. Dishes would be like casseroles (my fave is oyster casserole and tater tot casserole), chili mac, lobster rolls, jambalaya, poor mans dish, burgogo, brunswick stew, senate bean soup, gumbo, chicken pot pie, etc. Sides would be corn bread, hush puppies, mashed potatoes, crab cakes, collard greens, mac n cheese, clam chowder, cob salad, po boy sandwiches, smoked boudin, fried pickles, potato wedges, grits, gravy, buttered bisquits etc. Desserts would be like pecan pie, banana pudding, hummingbird cake, sweet potato pie, red velvet cake, crawfish boil, creole rice, cobbler, key lime pie, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, etc. I listed a lot of regional dishes.
pulled pork and sloppy joes. turkey bbq, mashed potatoes with green beans. burgers and hot dogs.

I live in the midwest and sunday my dad usually cooks steaks or some sort of pot roast. Nothing special or unique really, most of our dishes are probably from britain, germany, or some other northern euro country
