Just curious to know how it is around the world. At least here in Northeast Brazil where i live, the territories controlled by one gang (faction) are safe as fuck, no robberies, rapes, etc... But if they think youre snitching youre dead tho.

Also, for the safe part, generally they leave people alone. You might get robbed, but it's not very common.
Big gangs/organizations only kill/rob when it suits their interests, and it rarely does. They mostly deal in drugs and human trafficking (to an extent)

I don't know... Rosario (the city were they operate) has one of the highest homicides rates in the country (16 homicides per 100k inhabitants) so I guess I wouldn't choose to live there

Theres been a war with 3 different factions just in Ceará (Guardiões do Estado vs PCC vs Comando Vermelho), not to mention the various factions in Bahia, Pernambuco, Paraíba etc.
I live in RN where thanks god theres only one, the Sindicato. PCC members here are all dead or hiding.

in chicago the big ones are the disciples and the latin kings. i deal with people from both gangs everyday because of my lifestyle, but here on the westside in the austin neighborhood they are more about making money than killing people. south austin has high murder numbers simply because it is such a huge fucking neighborhood, but it isnt like the southside. it is safe, they dont mess with normal people only other people in the gang world, and even then ive seen multiple gangs working together and getting along because most of these people dont actually like violence, but its the only way to make a living for some people is selling dope and stuff. all in all it is safe, especially if youre just a normal person, chicago is a hell of alot safer than many other places in america.

I know a guy whos neighbor is in the mob. Its still everywhere, especially in Italian/Albanian majority areas. Think Northern Westchester, Putnam, Jersey. That sort of thing is still swarming with the mob. Even in the city they're still around. A mafia boss got taken out a few weeks back if I remember correctly. The reason you don't normally hear about it anymore is cause they're much more discreet after all the snitching in the 80's, 90's, and 00's.

There's no criminal activity in my neighborhood since I live in one of the richest cities in my country so life is a bliss here. Back when I lived in Montmartre tho the biggest threat were the albanian mafia and the negroes, both were fairly dangerous and give you a shitty day if you dared to look at them for too long.

Czech mafiosos kind of died off with the 90s so there are no "gang controlled" areas. There are places where gyppos live but they are not gangs per se.
