The Starks vs Lannisters was an engaging plot, I liked Robb.
The Red Wedding killed the series' momentum for me.

Yeah. I liked it because decent shows with that setting are rare, decent shows in general are rare. But it doesn't hold up all that well. Certainly not worth being excited about as I was awaiting for new eps/season back then, though I was young. The last 2 seasons have been irredeemable, on another level of bad, doesn't feel like the same show at all. American cinema of late has gotten particularly bad, I hope it doesn't influence others.

The books are decent. The show was decent when it was just copying the books without trying to do "le epic CGI and shaky cameras" every 10 seconds.
