Hey, I do not know if it's a good place to ask about it, but what languages do Belgians people know? I mean you have 3 official languages: French, Dutch, German. I suppose French and Dutch are more popular than German, Am I right? More popular language at native level is Dutch or French (or both) or German? Do you or know anyone who is a native Belgian and knows only German? Do you have any places in Belgium when you can only communicate in German? At school did you have mandatory 3 of them and English?
I don't think it's really possible to thrive in Belgium if you only know German, I'm sure they're taught French and Flemish in schools as well buddy.

flanders: flemish / dutch wallonia: French brussels: both but a french majority german cantons: german Flemish people make up ~60% of the population, walloons ~39 and germans ~1%. Flemish students learn very decent french in school and some walloon students learn dutch but they're not great at it. I believe german speakers learn French too. French is mandatory in Flanders but Dutch is not mandatory in Wallonia I believe. German is not mandatory anywhere but schools do give the option. German speakers are limited to a handfull of small municipalities in the east. German is the main language there but you could probably get around speaking french.
very thick flemish accents or dialects can be rough to understand and some of our words might not make sense to them, but standard flemish and standard dutch (which basically everyone knows) are like how british english and american english are to eachother. Most Dutch people don't really speak french and those who do are shit at it so communicating with walloons can be a bit of a hassle, but most young walloons speak okay english
