It's so fucking annoying how Americans stigmatize drinking. If you tell anyone here that you drink they're likely to look at you like a rapist crackhead even if you have a steady job and social life.

Do you live in Utah?

>If you tell anyone here that you drink
Why would you say something like that? If you say it like that it sounds like it is a full time thing for you

No, I live in the deep south. Everyone male is on prescription painkillers and every female is on anti-depressants but mention alcohol and everyone gets uncomfortable.

I heard that in much of the south liquor stores are called "package stores" because it sounds better tgan admitting you are buying liquor and because the store would traditionally put your alcohol in a discreet paper bag package so no one would know you bought liquor.
Is this true at all?

I thought the south loved its booze. I guess around here (coastie) some bible thumpers might get tight but I don’t think most people consider it a big deal.

why shouldn't drinking be stigmatized? it's one of the deadliest drugs in america.

It's because you have no culture about drinking... Look at the Irish, they have been so stigmatized by all other cultures that for them it's no longer a big deal. Same for the British, the Germans with beer and Italians, French and Spanish for wine.
There is a culture behind all the alcoholic beverages, but since you fat americans have always exceeded in their use and regarded them as just a way to escape pain or reality now it's stigmatized as if it were a drug.
>God fucks Murica

>now it's stigmatized as if it were a drug.

it is a drug

wincing, cringing and recoiling at this post

Yes and no. From the chemical point of view I have to agreed with you, yet it's all about the quantity and the attitude that makes the difference... Doing sport releases some (thing)-mine that makes you sort of addicted if you continue to do that, that's why once you've gone running 2/3 times in a row you wish to stomp your feet street the day after as well

You'd be my perfect wine mate. I'll raise a glass for you too this evening

>This is your country after prohibition

That's not true. It depends on the region. Northern mid west has a drinking culture and it's mot stigmatized

yes, but the thread wasn't about the northern mid west, am I correct? Generally speaking that's the image that leaks from your country

How is drinking stigmatized? I thought the image of the American patriot/marine was all about "boobs, beer and guns"

Also in American high school/college movies people love playing drinking games and getting fucked up (heavily drunk)

What the fuck are you talking about? I wish society looked down on people who drank to try to discourage it, but instead drinking is seen as something harmless to do all the time.
Nigga what dimension are you in where drinking is stigmatized because please get me there.

It's drinking is seen as a cool thing especially for young college retards. It's only stigmatized by some booners in the deep south

Get help, you fucking drunk.

Mmmmm....... yikes.

>drinking is seen as something harmless to do all the time.

stay bluepilled

Literally fake news by a proxy-wielding Brit.

What would Americans think about the German tradition of pulling a cart full of beer around in rural areas and publicly get drunk, annually celebrated on the first of May?

Frat broes will like it

Because Americans see alcohol as something to be abused not enjoyed

south tyroleans do this too but inside the town

When I moved to Kentucky I went to Walmart and couldn’t find the beer aisle and asked an associate, he told me they didn’t sell any. I was in disbelief, it was a “dry county” and I was going to have to drive 50 miles to purchase beer.

The term package just means that it is not a bar, you can’t drink it there. Also it identifies that the stores purpose is to only sale alcohol, as opposed to a grocery store that sells many things.

Think it's a bit odd and disgusting t b q h

Well there's your problem, you're in the wrong part of the country for accepted drinking. Come to the midwest and drink all the beer you want.

Sounds fun, people at my university basically do this once a week in the spring anyway.
