No one has claimed there is, whatever "cultural connection" even means. The linguistic connection however, is very clear.

Personally I don't think that there is enough linguistic evidence to determine how exactly the Hungarian language became a thing. Tbh I am not a lingustic and I accept their theory. By culturally I mean according to the medieval choronicles WE WUZ HUNS so it was a common a belief among Hugnarians, it still feels shocking to us that it is might not be true.

Humanities were always are and will be a farce presented to the people. Feelings are important.

There's no point looking for some kind of all-explaining origin theory. Linguistics, genetics, and culture should (usually not always) all be examined separately, since they do not necessarily originate from the same source. Finno-Ugric language connection does not exclude any other possible connection, linguistic or otherwise.
