Something like this, I'm a little murky on anything past the grandparents without actually checking. The Norwegian connection may have been second-gen Americans already so I may have exaggerated here. IIRC the North Irish protestants did in fact emigrate making grandma second-gen.
All grandparents and paternal great-grandparents are buried within a few miles of where I live. Much of mom's side is also buried around here, and the other half is further north/west. I left the upper midwest just once, to attend a cousin's wedding in Seattle. I have set foot in seven U.S. states, and apart from the Seattle trip and a few trips to Chicago/the Dakotas, I've spent over 99% of my life inside a circle of 200 miles radius.
Neither of my parents nor I have ever been outside the lower 48. Mom and dad do not hold passports. I decided to get one a few years ago just to have it, but I have no plans of using it for anything.

I think he also did research for my grandmother's family but I didn't have a copy availbable
Perhaps it could be fun to start asking your family members about your ancestors and if you know what you're looking for, the people at your local city archives / geneological association could help you out.
