Are esports a big thing in your country?
Netherlands: no, I don't think so.

Not anymore
How so? I thought Scandinavia was a gaming superpower.
I'm going to the Rocket league world championships next month
It's not cool anymore, only nerds still do it, the fat ugly kind of nerds
Cringe zoomer
Idk how anyone watches this stuff
In my experience gaming has become much more normalized over here, though in this regard 'gaming' means Fortnite on the Playstation 4.
PC gaming is still ugly nerd territory.
Yes, but mostly because we are in the center of Europe and thus all the professional Slavs don’t have to travel so far on their shoestring budget
It was never cool, now boomer lanparty that was the shit
idk how do you watch big sweaty black men push a ball a few yards
But I don't you stupid amermongrel

I really liked Rocket League upon release and have 200+ hours in it but I don't really think it's a very fun spectator sports. There's too little depth in my opinion.
kek what the fuck
Nope
The competitive scene has evolved a lot, grand champion in 2016 is now plat1 or gold.
>Are esports a big thing in your country?
It died together with VP
Stop calling it esports, these people are not athletes, they are people playing video games.
is chess a sport?
are horses athletes?
No, it's a game.
Some horses are.
and football is a game
No, football is a sport.
Yes, but it's only C*GO and L*ague.
and some games happen to be e-sports
esports are cringe and only nerds are interested in it
They are called e-sports because retards want to feel good about wasting their life playing video games and normalize it to be the same as a healthy interest in physical activity.
no, and it's a good thing
why can't I enjoy both?
Acutal pro players don't want to be called eathlets and other e-memes, it is the sponsors and all the companies that organise events and run things are pushing for it simply because of the marketing
Surprisingly not as it uses to be.
Im born in 94 and literally every single person i know + and - 4 years my age group plays dota or csgo.
Even now at mid 20s almost all of them play one game per month or so.
Zoomers however dont, they are obsessed with social media tho.
They often play casual braindead games like Fortnite or CoD
Sure you can, I just have a problem with the word esports, it is just gaming, don't try to portray it as something it's not. Playing FIFA for 12 hours a day is not the same activity as playing football for 12 hours a day.
this
Yes I know, and what they are doing is very dangerous to young people. I am unable to express my entire view on how it all connects, but this normalization of playing video games for thousands of hours and spending the majority of your time playing them is something I am very much against.
Holy shit yes! And I hate it.
no but I think there are events
