from what i've heard, the atmosphere there is like anything can happen suddenly and without warning. the sense of stability is gone.

but besides that, life goes on.

probably bc they're getting bombed

Did you migrate in Aus or are you born into it?
Also why isn't Iraq, Syria and Jordan the same country?

migrated not too long ago for university. was born in baghdad but lived in several countries around the world. '

>Also why isn't Iraq, Syria and Jordan the same country?
syria was under the french and iraq was turned into its own country in 1928 post ww1. Syria got independence later. They considered uniting back in 1969-1970s but Saddam scrapped the idea.

The english split them as two different countries initially. jordan and iraq united temporarily during the 50s i believe but then split up after 6 months.

all in all, just political and cultural differences, (although under the right government a unity would easily work imo).

>all those fake postcolonial countries
either the whole region should go full caliphate bonanza or be turned into a federation of all the micro-national micro-sectarian entities.

Damn

Would you want those countries together again?

>Would you want those countries together again?
under a strong, centralized authority sure why not. however it wouldn't last for more than 300 years desu if it was run extremely well. history tells us as much.

real life however, iraq and syria can barely hold themselves together. so doubt anything of the sort will be able to materialize.

300 years is a luxury with the modern world

it would take a strong governing body and some good luck to do so desu. and decent economy to keep peoples minds off self government.

but its just a pipe dream.

The same thing with Iran and Afghanistan
Divided only because of foreign interests

>The same thing with Iran and Afghanistan
ehhhhhhhhhhh those are very very different culturally. iraq, jordan and syria are much closer.

>Divided only because of foreign interests
not really, peak tribalism of the people works to the benefit of western powers who seek to keep everyone at each others throats. but the region has always been very tribalistic up to even 4000BC during the time of the sumerians etc. then one smart and strong ruler comes and unites things for a while but not long enough. then it disintegrates, rinse and repeat.

the fact that there is a european union that somehow works and co-operates despite having different languages and cultures versus plenty of countries that share a language and many aspects of culture not even organizing themselves on the same level is something you should be aware of.

There was never an Afghan empire tho?
Correct me if I am wrong but that region was culturally always dominated by Persia

> but that region was culturally always dominated by Persia
true but look at today. farsi/dari are indistinguishable as languages yes but there are still many marketable differences such as ethnicity, religion etc.

>religion etc
this one isn't relevant actually so ignore.

Things are infinitely better since we removed the tyrant dictator Saddam. Even today when an American travels to Iraq, crowds of Iraqis gather at the airport to thank him and showed him with gifts and praise.

>There was never an Afghan empire tho?
there was
>Correct me if I am wrong but that region was culturally always dominated by Persia
mostly, it was under persian and later turkic rule for most of its 'history' (afghanistan didn't exist as a state until the 18th century) until the dynasties ruling it being to decline and disintegrate

>kushan
>afghan
