You guys could do better if you didn’t all try to be so artistic about it. I’m not saying you have to dumb down your films to our level but most euro films have these weird cliches and all the characters are eccentric, not to mention you keep the camera in one spot for 30 seconds. It's unfair because Brits get too many points since people understand them. After Brexit, we can ban them from Eurovision and return to the old rules though.

If we're being a bit reductive, yes, but that's an attitude that should be dismantled. For example Silicon Valley is currently becoming fractured and decentralized despite its previously deification. Really doesn't help with the Americans being as insular and exclusive as they are now, though perhaps that's on purpose.
Either way, the US really doesn't know its place in the world; an illusion maintained by the US medias' insularity. All its popular sports are barely practiced in other countries, giving US-only championships. Much the same with awards.

He's right though, they removed the rule because Ireland won 4 times in 5 years in the 90s and officials believed that having English as an official language gave you an unfair advantage.
