Doesn't matter because they just fish in our waters instead. The common fisheries area was a mistake.

don't pretent paddies comprehend the concept of fishing, the great famine wouldn't have happened otherwise

>live in Freiburg and learn German
>Speak to Freiburgers, they understand my German
>take train to Strasbourg
>speak simply German to Strasbourgers (Ich möchte ein bier bitte)
>they don't understand a word I am saying

Straßburg is new algeria

But we did. Which is why the coastal communities grew in population during the famine years, Ivan.

great seeing you slowly evolving, now whats left is to grasp the basics of internal trade of goods

You seriously thought people spoke German in France lmao.

the better fish are norf anyway

FUCK YOU ICELAND

So people in Alsace can't even read their own laws anymore

What are you doing? I know it's a shithole with no future, but they are the ones that should give away territory, not the other way round. Elsass-Lothringen is German land, no French education can change that. I'm kinda salty that Luxemburg isn't ours as well. But since the French are our dear friends now, I will let it slide. As long as they care for it, they may keep it. Don't get me started on the areas we've lost in the East.

They're not laws, it only concerns religious bullshit, and no one read them anyways.

This coming from the country that evolved from a despot-ruled superpower to a despot-ruled backwater.

whataboutism isn't going to bring back from the grave all who died of malnourishment due to severely stunted eceonomic development

And it was stunted due to religious bigotry and colonialist-mindset of the ruling powers, not some meme reason like the entire population of a country not being experienced fishermen.

BASED ALSATIAN BVLLS

remember when stalin killed all the experienced farmers for owning land and russkis starved...
...he won't get the concept

where did you live in Freiburg? I lived there too.

When you have to compare your country with wretched entity such as Russia, you have already lost.

Lmao do americans really do this? Come to France and expect people to speak German because Hans mcMemester kept telling him that Alsace is German?

>choose to be part of Germany when the whole country is in ruins
>while being in our prime with both steel and coal industry helping the country immensely to rebuild
>couldve been the center of the EU, making 100k€ a year and dabbing on all you faggots

fucking nigger, if you make a böhmermann tier joke to me in real life I swear to god I will beat your face in

Fuck Böhmermann and fuck anyone who dares to joke about one of our Bundesländer. The Saarland may be way past its prime, but it will always be a respected part of Germany.

Alsace is not german at all.
Your only claim was that it spoke a dialect of german (which it doesn't anymore btw), but then why didn't you sperg out about Switzerland or that german speaking part of Belgium? Or Austria or Luxembourg?
Why do you never sperg about Switzerland or Austria?
You're just bitter because you took Alsace twice during wars but lost it again every time.
Don't @ me I'm heading off to bed

>Hans McMemester

HOW DOES SOMEONE NAMED HANS HAVE A LAST NAME STARTING WITH MAC

>be annexed by France
>get your culture and language obliterated
>become flooded with Algerians and Ivorians
They deserve it for being loyal to P*ris

Its still a great place honestly, cant wait to go back. Especially the people

If Kaliningrad would today be in German hands, the Russian inhabitants would simply be swapped for waves of Afghans, Eritreans or Somalis instead. Is that any better?

Rude Mongol

Unironically yes.

>Don't @ me I'm heading off to bed
First of all, don't tell me what to do
>Why do you never sperg about Switzerland or Austria?
Believe me, I do sperg out about Austria.

Let's say Germany's history as a nation began in 962, when the HRE was founded. I could go back to Charlemagne/Karl dem Großen/Carolus Magnus, but that would be a bit of a stretch since his empire laid the foundation for both Germany and France. In the 1057 years that have passed since 962, Elsass-Lothringen (or respectively, the larger parts of it) has been under German rule for most of the time. France owned it from 1648 to 1870, from 1919 to 1939 and from 1945 to today. That's 316 years out of 1057. It was divided for like another 100 years. Look at the buildings in Straßburg. Just because you killed the German language there doesn't mean it's not German anymore.

Austria was a part of Germany for 904 years (962-1866), but then Bismarck had to kick them out in order to form a real nation state. We've been very close ever since, but after 1945, the Austrians started believing that they're not German. They're just as German as Bavarians and Saxonians, it's not like every German is the same. They just happen to live in another nation state, it's not the same situation as with Elsass-Lothringen.

Switzerland is a bit more complicated. They left the HRE in 1648 (after 686 years), but they kinda did their own thing centuries before that. Also, they're part French and part Italian as well, although it's ~70% German. They started thinking of themselves as not directly German long, long before the rest. They're still very close to us.

The German-speaking part of Belgium is only not German since 1919. For the rest of the time, it was German. Also, it's very irrelevant, 80.000 people live there. The people there are heavily rooted in Germany, it's simply because of the language. It's a very fluent border so to say. I live right next to it by the way.

>Russian inhabitants would simply be swapped for waves of Afghans, Eritreans or Somalis

Well, today we're getting swapped for waves of sandniggers from Central Asians and mountainniggers from Caucasus in our own country, I don't see how is it any better.

>Implying they would be any worse than the Russians

They speak at least some Russian and work. Ours do neither. Also, your cunt is huge, this one isn't.

>I live right next to it by the way.
>living next to Belgium
I feel really sorry for you user.
Thanks for the quality post btw.

>I don't see how is it any better.
They're not African, you don't know your luck.

What is your stance on german nationalism and what do you think about contemporary german culture(s?).

Thanks, dude. I don't really visit Belgium often, only the German-speaking part, which isn't really Belgium as you know it.
Sorry for replying late. German nationalism... Well, I think it depends on how exactly you would define that term. There is a big debate in Germany about this and I think it heavily relies on the exact thing you want to know. Could you elaborate? That way I can give you a better answer although it remains a difficult question with pretty much no correct answers. And boy are we sensitive about this.

German nationalism as in a pre-ww2 nationalism that has been made a taboo in many european societies today.

Oh, alright. I can at least try.
My personal stance? I would like Austria and Germany to be together, united as one single country. And I am a fan of (German) history, which includes territories way larger than the modern area of 357,400 square kilometres. But that's it. For example, the Austria-Germany thing depends on Austrias free will. I don't want us to annex all territories lost in wars, I kinda miss them and meme about it, but it's over for us. I believe in Europe as a union of free people, each of equal worth. We've entered a new era and I'm thankful we Germans have a place in it. The Nazis were cringe as fuck, they turned their back on the German people when the tide had turned. So many cities destroyed and so many people killed, German and non-German. I call myself a patriot (not in the obvious American way, which isn't meant as an insult to Americans) and I'm glad that we've become a strong nation again. Our history cannot be erased. Nowadays, I'm sometimes a bit annoyed when (our own) people unironically try to guilt-trip us.

It's hard to express in words. Is that what you've wanted an answer to? If not, sorry. Then, please repeat the question so that my retarded ass can understand it.

Thanks for the answer, germanon.

I hope I didn't upset you. My answer is of course a personal one, not in the slightest representative. As I said, it's a sensible topic. What do you think?

Fake France.

Attached: 576.jpg (413x280, 87K)

IMO european countries should reagain at least some national pride and stop guilt-tripping so much for their own good and the good of other countries.

that would be based

>serbsucking russian cock uninvited

Serbs don't need an invitation

Yeah, that's true. I'm not 100% happy with the EU. We have too much cool history, we can't just throw overboard who we are. Together we can achieve great things, but we all have our own identities.

no i mean it would start shit you couldn't even imagine, i'm all for chaos. 1962 would seem like a little baby.
