Hello Jow Forums I have a question

Hello Jow Forums I have a question
For housing expenses you should spend a max of 33% of gross monthly income on right?

So I make 3200/month (this doesn’t include overtime just using base pay)

So can I rent a place for 1056/month or should I be looking at after taxes?

After taxes, 401k andHSA
HSA I’m bringing home 430/wk
I feel like renting a place for 1k would make me housepoor

in the US ppl generally spend 50%ish on housing/transportation, keeps em in perpetual servitude

ren'ts too high

You should spend whatever makes sense, independent of income. Setting spending a set portion of income is something retarded millennials do.

there's no escape from the delusion that any of this has significance le outside of the realm of our distributed perceptions a la carte we accept ipso facto the robot as human, indeed more human than man himself

It’s a shame your too focused on waxing your carrot to your ego to realize that “spending what makes sense” doesn’t make sense with inflated rent/housing prices.

be a neet and spend $0 on housing like I do

Does that mean you could get however large of a mortgage you want as long as you can sustain yourself? For example let's say you make $10,000/month after taxes, and you can easily get by on only $2,000. Will they allow you to buy a very expensive house where you need to make $8,000/month payments?

The reason why I ask this is because landlords only allow you to get a maximum of 1/3 your monthly income so I was wondering if this same restriction still holds for buying houses

Cheers to that

Why the fuck would I pay $8000 a month? Kys

For people that are rich and want to buy a large and luxurious house. Are you seriously this retarded where you can't think of such a simple concept for yourself?

If you really were rich you wouldn't be asking how much you should spend on a house on a forum of NEETs.

>thinking Jow Forums is only for a two-person conversation. You're either a newfag or a brainlet

Your post smells of summer

You should choose the cheapest possible housing option that is still bearable/feasible.
>live in >totally unaffordable Silicon Valley
>gf and I rent a room together
>recently renovated, private bathroom
>mfw my monthly rent is $400

Why not live in a van? Cheaper... Then you can sell the van...

It would be more expensive to register the vehicle, get insurance, and a legal parking spot. Not to mention the financial risks of having to deal with a perpetually pissy gf being forced to live in a van. Lrn2finance

Cheers to that bub

Lol, it's doable. Just park at work.

You saving up to buy a house or just investing.

Ye but I'll pay the $12/day "luxury" to live in this place. As of now, I'm just investing. I'll wait for the next crash until making any real estate moves, especially here in commiefornia

Live where you want. If you can't afford it its not because you have a SAVINGS problem its because you have an INCOME problem. If you're making $430 a week even if you find an apartment thats $600 a month (which will be shit) you will still be a poor faggot forever.

you pay as much as you need for housing. if you are wiling to pay more time for less money, look further away. if you value time and convenience, pay more. go with whatever you are comfortable with.

You can spend 1500 ez as long as you can be frugal in other parts of your life

The 33% is just a guideline for spend happy retards

The most important thing is knowing where your money goes. Wether you spend it on houses, shopping, or drinking is just preference

>putting 25% into401k
>putting 3k/yr into hsa

hmm so r u saying i should do 3% and take home 600/wk instead ?
